The other night I paid $380.69 for a 1911. Like I needed another gun.... ARGH!!

But that there is a steal!!!
Like I need another gun lol. We 've all said that but….its never stopped any of us! Lol. I've said that to a good friend before lots of times. Guess what it works lol. So does " that looks good on you, you should buy it"

On the right day at PSA you get a 1911 for 279.00, a pump shotgun for 99.00 and an AR for less than 350, back few years ago when 45 acp was still 18-19 a box they would run S & B or Lawman for 12.95

too bad ammo, or even components ( esp. powder & primers) haven't dropped in price as much as some firearms. I've seen AR-15's. complete rifles/carbines for a $300-350 , from a variety of manufacturers. An upper alone used to go for more than that.. PSA has had Tisas & other brand 1911's on sale for $299.00 recently.

Yeah the ammo thing still sucks, cheapest I can remember 9's was 7.73 a box, Wolf Gold 556 4.75 box of 20, the 9's were Blazer Brass, steel cased like Tula between 6 and 7 a box, this wasn't 25 years ago just pre China flu

My buddies I shoot with that reload always talking about reloading supplies at matches, something I never got into but I did buy match ammo from a friend, the 800.850 fps stuff, he just gave up on it, health wasn't great so between the 2 he just quit

I used to do most my loading in the winter, rifle & pistol. Now, when hot & humid or raining , I sometimes load in summer, I often will load cases year round.
Sometimes I just prep rifle brass: clean, resize & knock out old primers, measure length , sort those needing trimming, then trim them.
Next , prime all cases & sort by headstamp. Store in plastic bags ( by brands) & mark bags " ready to load"
When I want to load those cases, it's really quick, measure powder charge & seat bullets.. done.

I do lot of "experimental" loads, using new bullets , powders, etc. latest experiments have been loading composite bullets, in .380, 9mm, 38, & 45 acp.
Bullets are made of copper particles in a polymer matrix.. very light weight, so starting powder charges have greater velocity than lead or Jkt'd bullets @ max powder loads. Lighter bullets = less recoil & muzzle jump = greater accuracy. Composite bullets also leave no residue in the bore.
