Thats cool. Using coffee beans instead of hops? Any particular bean?
You can get the coffee flavor just from combining different "colors" of roasted barley. I tried some roasted wheat a few months ago; it was 550 Lovibond, darker than any barley I've seen, but it didn't really offer as much flavor as color. Super-dark black ale, but actually a much lighter flavor profile than a conventional stout or porter, although it was technically a stout. It was great beer.Mattyvip said:What would you like to know? The coffee beans are added toward the end of the process and left to brew with the beer. It's my first try at it. Usually I stick to brewing simple stuff as I'm kind of a simpleton.
