3 Gun Buck Shot

Buffer is little plastic balls mixed in with the shot to absorb some of the shock and keep the lead from deforming. The deformation is what causes the big patterns, it isn't helped by the wimpy wad in that stuff either. Or so said someone that knows way more about loading shotgun shells than I do. Plating makes the shot harder - less deformation there too.

I learned something new today!! Thanks

For the OKCGC match anything will work just fine. That's stuff is pretty cheap so you're good to go. If you want the best stuff that's the federal or Hornady stuff with the flight control type wad.

Meh, I'm going to just standard buck loads when my low recoil stash is gone. I shoot a gas gun and my split times are crap anyway. But that one single popper at High Plains did it for me. They had one set just about as perfect as you can get, I bet they shot a couple of sleeves dialing it in. Everyone was having to send 3 to 5 at it to get it to fall. An open shooter called for calibration and Uncle Kurt came down with his "shoot gun" and Fiocchi standard buck loads, and he drilled it right where he should have. That popper quivered a little bit, then leaned a little bit, thought about it a little bit and then decided to go on down. I wouldn't have believed it had I not seen it.
