3/27/2011 USSA Rifle match

I was only planning on using my irons regardless of the distance - Redneck - I can go out with you to sight in your rifle. I've got some 25 meter targets to sight at, if it is an AR, with a standard ghost rings, you sight in at 25 with 0-2 and flip to the smaller ring to be dead on at 300.

Let me see if I can find you a manual of some sorts.

found it!

Thankyou for the offer to help, but I will be ordering some BUIS from magpul soon

Bring what you got. It's not a major match. There's no money at stake. I won't laugh if you miss as long as you won't laugh when I miss.

Wormy, I just want to let you know that you will out shoot me, but I am gonna be more ATAS than you, because I am wearing my tac vest. lol

I almost bought this last week

51LaiGjH9gL._AA300_.jpg
50 bucks on the Zon

That stuff really isn't necessary. In fact I strongly encourage you NOT to wear that this Saturday!

And if you're planning on using that in 3 gun, or any other competition with a pistol, forget it. The crossdraw ain't happening on any ranges 'round these parts.

Anything ya'll need to borrow, just ask. I've got spare mag carries, spare guns, spare mags, spare ear muffs, eye pro, shirts, socks, and undies. but by God BUY YOUR OWN AMMO! :P

I was going to store my energy bars, fruit and maybe a juice box in it! And besides, it just looks bad ass - really shows that you mean business, and would be accompanied with my Business socks.

Wait. We are going up on Sunday right? or am I riding up with you for Saturday's match?

OK guys, we'd previously said no one would laugh at you at a match. If you wear stuff like that to the match, all bets are off. :D

I just want to be more ATAS than the ATAS ninja. And since this is just a fun match. if it was a rifle/pistol match, I would wear my blackhawk drop leg rig.

no drop legs either. While allowed, not practical.

I'm not going to saturdays match. Are you wanting to? I was just saying that crossdraw vests aren't allowed if running a pistol. If you're not in a pistol match then you could wear your crossdraw with full plate armor and ballistic helmet for all I care.

And you'll never be more ATAS then me. :P

well tac vest and body armor I have, no helmet though.

Thinking of trying this as my first rifle match so you can imagine the apprehension I have and of course the questions. I will be there Saturday for a USPSA pistol match and know what to expect for that. Now what differs from a pistol match?
Do we carry the rifle in a case or sling on the shoulder from stage to stage?
Do you load up your 30rd mags?
Do you need mag holders like USPSA pistol matches?
What kind of round count per stage is average?
How long is the average match? Have things to do Sunday afternoon in OKC
Have both a 22LR AR with a Eotech redot and a 5.56 AR with a Eotech redot that I'm ashamed to say has only seen the far side of H&H rifle range. Have plenty of mags for both.
What chance does the 5.56 have of hitting a plate at 200 yds when sighted to 25yrds?
Should I bring both or leave the 5.56 at home and bring the 22LR instead?
Do we shoot 22LR to 200 yards?
Sorry for the questions but like to be somewhat prepared.

Do we carry the rifle in a case or sling on the shoulder from stage to stage? Either is fine. I prefer bag so I don't get muzzle swept or sweep anyone.
Do you load up your 30rd mags? I load mine. You can load yours.
Do you need mag holders like USPSA pistol matches? I do. A back pocket works just fine too. That's what I used my first time.
What kind of round count per stage is average? 25-40 is good. Always have a spare mag on you when shooting.
How long is the average match? Have things to do Sunday afternoon in OKC Usually get done 2-3ish at the latest

What chance does the 5.56 have of hitting a plate at 200 yds when sighted to 25yrds? Good chance I would think. Rusty does it all the time. I would aim low though with that zero.
Should I bring both or leave the 5.56 at home and bring the 22LR instead? Both!
Do we shoot 22LR to 200 yards? Probably not. Probably just to 100, but I'm not the MD
Sorry for the questions but like to be somewhat prepared. Keep the questions coming. I'm sure you're not the only one with questions
