2011 High Plains Shooting Challenge, June 25th & 26th

with an AK it may improve your hit probability??

changes from divisions I'm not too worried about, you can change and verify when you register, but thanks for the heads up.

Does anyone know it the Brown Bear .223 ammo is allowed in this match. I've always thought that it is steel case but the bullet is copper jacketed lead core.

Steel core runs best in the AK - H&H tried to sell me a box of theirs at 17 bucks for 20. I get mine for less than 4 for 20!

I'm thinking about shooting this match. I haven't sent in my entry yet.

Trapr, is there still room for additional entries?

Brown Bear = Monarch (like they sell at Academy). It is steel-cased, bimetal jacket and will attract a magnet, but is not steel core...meaning it should be OK.

Still, try Trapr's test.

Just try the magnet test and it does attract to the bullet. Like what you said, it is bimetallic jacket. So, is it ok for the match? I just want to be sure that it is ok for the match. If not I'll get some American made ammo.

A bimetal jacket will be OK.

Getting a list of competitors is not high on the list of priorities right now, but I can probably get one done.

I didn't write on my form any squad members I'd like to be with. Also if need be I can RO.

No, I'm shooting .22 magnified, which I understand has a couple heavy hitters in it.

If my replacement .22 doesn't work, then it'll be Centerfire Magnified, which has even more heavy hitters in it.

My goal, as I previously stated, is to have fun.

Well, it IS a bit more fun when you win!

But I don't expect to unseat the heavy favorites this time, especially since I had to change guns and can only get to the range once or twice before the match.

I think everyone will have fun, but many will be disappointed by the fact that they came with unrealistic expectations, until they see the prize table!!!!

I'll try and get a current break down of divisions, but there is a lot to do before match day and trying to get a euro vacation trip set up right after the match ain't helpin'

I never said I expect to win. But it's always my goal. If you don't have the mindset to win, you've lost before you fire the first shot. You beat yourself.

Learned that when I was about 6 years old on the wrestling mat.
