The list of Shame (places where concealed carry is banned)

Was in TN some time ago and saw this sign at a restaurant. Quite the opposite. We need more of them here in SC. j

    Ladson Gun show, Sept 11 & 12

Gun show at Ladson Fairgrounds near Summerville. Not a real big show compared to others but still could find some good deals. I will be looking for some accessories. I am sure the ammo $$ will still be outrageous. j

Patience paid off (or just lucky)

Another range report. Had a few failures of the slide to go into battery. About a dozen out of 200 rds. Not bad but still a worry. So after cleaning I used some 800 grit paper to polish all the areas that seem to be rubbing against each other. The worst was the ejector rod. It had a...

    SD9VE trigger upgrade?

I like the new trigger! Can't say I shoot any better but I like the feel of it. Well, maybe I can shoot a little better. I can put all the rounds on an 8.5 x 11 piece of paper at twenty yards. That won't win me any trophies but I know I am consistent. j

    SD9VE trigger upgrade?

Last might I installed a Galloway Precision flat trigger on my SD9VE. The Boudica trigger. It took just a little Dremel work to make if fit right but it feels good and operates fine. Looking forward to some range time to find out how it performs. Will it make a difference? IDK. Is it really...

Liking this little pistol more each time I shoot it. The hiccups I had at first have waned. I can guarantee it will go to the range more than my other weapons. Cheap to shoot and easy on the hands. Everyone who I let shoot it say they have got to get one. Only time will tell if it holds up...

    Let's see your 1911's

I have a little affection for the ATI 45 ACP. I have the FX GI, Commander size with no after-market mods. It is a very good shooter! j

    Legal Question

It may or may not be legal but is certainly not a good idea to open carry a rifle walking down the street or into public park, a mall, store, whatever. It is a sure fire way to quickly meet your local SWAT team. j

Howdy neighbor. I am a Charlestonian, too. BTW, newbies must buy a round of KK donuts for active members. (Unofficial rule I just made up) j

    Surviving Coronavirus

Doing just fine, thanks for asking. Wife and I did our best to maintain normalcy throughout. We went to places that were open, rented RedBox movies instead on going to the theater, wore our masks, kept our distance, bought ammo when we found it. We waited out the panic and knee jerk reaction...

I am in SC. Agree though, seems not a lot of input on this site. Perhaps if we had some dancing ladies on the home screen...... To the woke snowflakes, yes, that was sexist. Too bad, deal with it. j

Is that $7 only for listing of firearms or do I need to spend $7 to contact someone if I am interested in buying? Or both? j

This won't be a detailed report, just a general report with my impression. I was able to get my KT P17 out to Twin Ponds range today. Generally it performed very well using plain jane bulk Winchester white box, Remington golden bullet, and a bag of old mix matched left overs from other boxes...

Update. Kel Tec was indeed quick to respond to my email and very helpful. Turns out the rifling is just fine. Even though I haven't fired it yet the bore was dirty. After a good clean and lube the rifling is quite evident. And they recommended no drying firing without protection. Until I...

Yeah, I have read where Keltec is good to work with. Hope I don't need to contact them. To my knowledge the Diamondback DB9FS is no longer made (for good reason). your 1930's gun sounds like it has earned the status of a wall hanger now. j

Yep rotary, that is one thing I will get. I must say I am a tad concerned even though I haven't fired it yet. I looked down the bore and could hardly notice any rifling. From what I read the 22lr doesn't need deep rifling but I could barely see any. Maybe it is just my tired old eyes. When...

I was looking to see if there are any upgrades out there yet. I only see one, a trigger replacement. meh. I found a basic holster that will fit. But I did notice that some of the websites I looked at had the MSRP at $199.00. If so, I got a good buy at $30 less than the MSRP. Sweet! j

Patience paid off (or just lucky)

I have been wanting an inexpensive 22 lr since middle of last year. After talking to folks and gun shops, reading articles and watching videos the internet I was centered on three. the Ruger Wrangler, Taurus TX22, and the Kel Tec P17. I finally decided I wanted to get the Kel Tec P17. Of...
