    Almost back

Glad you were safe. I imagine it's a lot easier to say "it's just stuff" until you actually lose it all. I hadn't even thought about this until we bought our house and read the fine print on the homeowners insurance about the coverage not including jewelry and firearms, and it was on a separate...

    Bead Blasting

This. If there's still Iron in it it can rust. Or at least *I* can rust it.

    Press Maintenance

The one I'm running is probably older than I am. I put a little oil on the ram piston, then wipe down anything I've touched and give it a shot of Remoil. If you run in Auto Index mode, you'll want to keep a few of the nylon index grommets handy. They wear out every thousand rounds or so.

How does the Primary Arms 1-6x compare to this? Has anyone here seen or used one? https://www.primaryarms.com/Primary-Arms-1-6X-Scope-with-Patented-ACSS-Reticle-p/paps1-6x.htm

    Getting Started

Any experience with the Winchester SuperX2 & SX3 models for 3-Gun use? Why'd they get away from the 300yd shots?

    Smith and Wesson CORE

Exactly. My thinking would be that if you used a red dot in competition and had a lot of practice with it, and were *fast* with it there; why wouldn't you be able to be fast with it in your house? Conversely, I wouldn't put one on my HD gun if I had never run a red dot on a handgun.

    Smith and Wesson CORE

As a Carry gun I could see it being a bit of a nuisance, but then people carry with tac lights too. As a Home Defense gun, it should be great.

That'd be a real turn on... Just as things get really going: "Uh, did you remember to lock the headboard?"

    Optics suggestions for AR-varmint build?

I have one of these on my AR. It is a nice scope. The magnification range is fantastic. I haven't tested it out to any distance yet though. I do wish it would have been Mil/Mil or moa/moa.

    .223 Wylde

"the fluted barrels are lighter" Given all else constant (IE, metal alloy, length, profile); true. If you take a given barrel, and machine metal off, it will be lighter. However, weight reduction is probably a bad reason to flute. If you just want lighter weight, have the barrel turned down to a...
