OK State .22 & .223 Tactical Rifle Indoor Championship

were you supposed to not hit the multi colored post-its. that's what I gathered from the pic.

There were squares of cardboard turned upside down on a chair. You turn over a square, and whatever color post-it was on that square, that is the color you were supposed to shoot on the target.

You turned over a card at each position and shot the color that was on the card. Not to difficult really. The other colors were not no shoots. The trick was knowing your mechanical offset. I shot about 20 rounds at the first one trying to find where I was at.

I had a blast and will definitely participate again. Thanks David for putting this on... it was a lot of fun.

Here is a video for everyone wanting to see Paul's sweet 10/22. The only guy on our squad to shoot the "communion wafer" stage clean

I'm also going to move this over to match talk since the match is over. Feel free to continue talking about this awesome match.

I just realized that I only shot the post-it notes TWICE each. I think the course of fire required THREE each, didn't it? Thanks buddies.........

. Sorry Paul, I couldn't resist

Wow, what a match !

1) It will be more "run and gun" kind of like the pistol matches, but with smaller targets. :72:

2) Rimfire ONLY (the .223 muzzle blast ranged from bearable to WHOA!!!) :098: :sign0099:

3) .22 Handguns allowed (closer shooting positions, if needed) :s_cool:

4) Tubular magazine .22's allowed (no required reload, DRT scoring utilized) :welcome:

5) Bolt action .22's allowed (DRT scoring) :08:

6) The earliest would be the 5th Sunday in July Earlier start? :a102:

During the match I was kinda thinking eh that wasn't that fun but looking back on it I had a blast. I was super tired from the sectional on saturday and rifle match earlier in the day or I would have done a lot better. I'm already getting excited about another one. Id be willing to shoot one on the 1st or 3rd Sunday in place of the pistol match.

I can understand your position.
You drove and shot one match, and had to travel and make another. That makes for a long day. Kudu's to you for making it to the match and doing the scoring.
I'm impressed with the dedication ;)

That's great! Paul I like your comment at the end about not knowing where POI was. Who knew you would need a "spotter" for an indoor match. I don't think I would have known my POI either at those indoor distances, plus small targets and poor eyesight, I'd be hopin for some luck.

What were most of you guys rifles zeroed for? I currently have my M&P 15-22 and red dot zeroed for 25 meters, because I shot at an Appleseed and just left it there, and planning to do another one down the road.
