I learned a couple of things too! Like...
-I'm pretty good at long range with iron sights. I hit all the targets without timing out!
-a 20in barrel with NO CHOKE is not a good shotgun for multi-gun! <_< (I would have been better off throwing the shells at those diamond plates!!!) hahaha

I had a great time, even though at first it seemed less fun than an all-pistol match. I made all my 300 yard shots with irons and a 16" barrel, which was a little surprising. The poppers were tough, for some reason; at 78-85 yards, it took me two or three times as many shots to hit them as it took for my 200 and 300 yard shots. That was weird. Thanks to Jesse for the sweet Benelli.

Those auto poppers are very hard! If I used a 4" target at that distance without a timer it would be tough. It's all about trigger control, breathing and the fundamentals. Easier said than done, right?

I was proud of my little AR today it hit all the long shots I was concerned with but those little stinking auto poppers were very hard for my AR to hit, can't be my fault :unsure: :unsure:
Just how big (small) are those things?

Wall, you were a great help - definitely a great resource for any person new to the sport. All the vets are so helpful, they really help guide us along. I am gonna buy several packs of peeps after easter and shoot the hell out of them to train up for the long range shots!

Today's match was another effing awesome event. It didn't seem like a very complicated match until today while shooting it! lol. I'd like to once again offer a big thank you to Mike and Scott and also to the guys on my squad that helped with everything all day. All of the work that you guys put in makes an average day of shooting into a great day of shooting. Thanks guys.

Indeed. It was just disturbing because those were closest, and the same size or larger in perspective in relation to the 300 yard target, which was much easier to hit. I never did any testing after I zeroed my rifle at 30 yards, so it was all guesstimation. I'll show them who's boss next time.

This is what makes this sport so great. No one cares about getting an edge because you forgot this or are awaiting delivery of that. The attitude is more along the lines of "yeah I've got one you can use". Hell, I've been offered ammo by my entire squad when my reloads turned out to be crap.
I can't say if this is the case all over, but it's definately the way it is with all the guys that shoot matches around these parts. The Okla. clubs & shooters are friggin' awesome!!!

I agree, it was all good.
Enjoyed timing out on the rifle stage, gives me a reason to pratice more, Ha!
I enjoyed getting thru all the shotgun stages with my 5 shot shotgun.
I enjoyed my chair and wheelbarrow also.
I saw a post from one of the guys in Texas saying the stages there were easy compared to Mike Pinto's...setups.
Thanks for the great stages, lots of learning going on at everyone of your matches for me.

Definately a great match. I can't speak of any other matches, I haven't been to any that Mike hasn't set up, but one thing I can alway count on is something new each time. I hope when I do a IDPA match in September with my brother in MO it will be a piece of cake compared to the crap Mike puts us through.

That long range today wasn't anything new and I timed out. The last 3 matches we've done out there I hit my targets on the long range with the same setup so I don't know what was happening there, I saw a lot in my squad have a problem with it.

I feel like I have made some improvement over the past matches and I almost don't want to see the scores because they tell the truth.

I did get to meet some new people which was great.

Austin, Mike, Chris and I are on our last stage here at Larue and I must say...this has been pretty simple compared the crap Pinto and Parks dream up.

Great sounds like you guys got it under control. Can't wait to see the results.
