I'm so ready for spring time.....
Deal.
I'm sure we'll see this classifier again before long.
I'm just messing with you man. Im trying to get you motivated to that next level. I know you can shoot that anyday. Well except last night that is.
I'm still trying to figure out if you or Jesse will first. If I was any more motivated I'd quit my day job.![]()
I know right, it has to be the guns. He's a cheater! He does stuff to his guns to make them faster and he won't do the same stuff to my gun which is why he always beats me. at shooting.
I dont claim to be a competive shooter... and really admire you guys who can run race guns as well as some of you all do.
So take this with a grain of salt... That classifier proved only that a guy can spray a lot of lead quickly. Sometimes the gamer rules confuse me .... are they really here to make us "better" shooters... or "faster shooters"?
i know that stage was way "out of my pay grade".
But it's fun... so I will keep on coming.
they make you do things you wouldn't do.

rusty, you really dont know the best way to shoot em? Theres only one way. as fast as you can get all A's (or close to A's, at that distance)I shot it fast, but didn't get the hits. I'm still not sure what the best way to shoot that first string is??? I got all 12 shots off though. lol... To get those hits I have to slow WAY down, there's not much room in 6 seconds for me to make that happen.
Classifiers definately have a tendency to make you want to shoot faster than you can which is exactly why I'm stuck in C class in 2/4 divisions. I try to go faster than I can see the sights on the target and just start pulling the trigger as fast as I can like I was rolling on a driveby in the hood. If I could pace myself I think A or maybe even M class is within my current abilities.
+1 Mike
I thought the classifier was pretty cool. On a "regular" classifier, the hits are the constant and the time is the variable. You can take as long as you want to shoot all A's. On the par time classifier, the time is the constant and the shots/hits are the variable. i.e. You should only take shots when you have a good sight picture. Of course I say this being one of the hosers trying to get lucky.![]()

Jeff,
there wasnt anything racy about the gun I shot. Just a good trigger.
Spend some time looking at how we keep score, check out the hit factor system. Total points divided by time.
Then look at some of the times and scores (including penalties) of some of the shooters you saw shoot..
Go look at my times and then look and my points. Simple fact was that I was fast and still got good points (accuracy)
you cant miss fast enough to win.
I was one of those speed demons early on, missing a target or two every stage. I finally got fed up with not being able to move up in match results; it seemed no matter how fast I tried to go, I couldnt beat the guys who were a little slower, but made better hits.
Well, duh.
Thanks Mike... your wise ... but stay out of the Ladies room. <_<
(Below isnt necessarily directed towards you, Jeff)
The classifier didnt "Prove" anything.
Its just there, waiting to be shot.
Classifiers dont kill, shooters do.
You guys are actually annoyed that you cant get 12 shots in 6 seconds? I can tell you how you can make that happen, and at the same time become classified as a Grand Master. lol.
What a classifier and classification system is intended to do is take a snapshot of your skills that you have at a particular time. Judging by the skills necessary to obtain a certain hit factor (score), it then spits out a number that presumably correlates to your shooting skill.
The fundamentals of marksmanship are the same; get a good sight picture, try to get an A, and then move on. If the buzzer beeps before youre done shooting, then your skill is not yet of the level that will allow a higher score on that classifier.
This isnt a stage designed to make you try to shoot real fast and try to get lucky..
So the idea is to get faster accurate shots...
I theory a guy could hit say 10 Alphas on a slower time and beat a guy who shoots 7 A's and 3 C's faster?
Mentally--- I hit that stage with the idea that the objective was to get a reload in and send 12 shots... If I would have slowed down and got 3 or 4 A's that would have scored higher (in 6 seconds)?
This may take awhile... I'm still trying to quell the reflex to get behind a rock when my gun is drawn.
This guy is a liar dont listen to him!!! He said to me at this match that his new 2011 open gun slows him down about 10%.
