Got my first handgun in 1981 - a 70 Series Colt Government Model. I've been carrying it for 39 years now. It' a little embarrassing when I see all the beautiful works of art posted here, because, having been carried for 39 years - it looks it. The blue finish is worn from being in and out of the holster so many times, and it has battled rust in summer heat. (There were no stainless Colts in 1981) As of last summer it has earned summers off. I picked up a 45 Shield on a sale + the S&W rebate a couple years ago and had shot it enough to trust it last summer. I got the one with the safety and with a Hyve Extension it holds the same 8+1 - and it doesn't rust.
For all that shooting used to be FUN, (A point that is never mentioned in the "DISCUSSION" to nullify the Second Amendment being forced by a government, or at least a political party, that DEFINITELY sees an armed citizenry AS A THREAT) there is now a cold war raging that is very much a current reality, living in communist controlled territory, where the Second Amendment no longer has bearing.
My views on firearm rights come from having been under a table during a public shooting in a restaurant when I was a kid, I learned that waiting 5 minutes for a police response, feels like 5 hours, AND IS NOT AN OPTION!
So I have a BIG problem with any citizen disarmament laws. . . . .
. . . which means I have a lot of BIG problems. (HA) Cause these laws are NEVER ENDING!
Whether real, or perceived through paranoia, I feel much care must be used when posting anything firearms on the internet. But I DO love seeing all the BEAUTIFUL firearms posted on this site.
And I do look forward to a day when I live in a more free America where I would feel comfortable posting firearms on a site.
