Been practicing reloads for over a month now. At a point it was getting very frustrating. Part of this is no matter what hobby I pick up, I always look to the absolute pros as my level to achieve. This gets me very motivated but if it just isnt working for me, it can drive me insane!
Anyways, I keep the shotgun shouldered (hard to do with a 28" barrel and an extended tube). My grabs are always good but the shells would never roll into place and I would usually end up bobbling the last two somewhere in or around the loading port before getting them in the tube. Yesterday I decided this just wasn't working and I needed to find my own way of doing this.
I kept the shotgun shouldered but rolled it up so the loading port is easier to get to. My reloads are now consistent and faster. I'm between 7.5-8 sec par time for loading 8 right now. This is a huge improvement from my ghastly "9 sec- if im lucky" loading!
