I'm trying to not have just Gaming gear so I'm staying more on the tactical flavor.

The only thing that makes my full flavor competition gear nontactical is that I have decided not to use them on the streets.

Seriously there is no difference unless your department or unit says you must carry X pistol or Y rifle. Chances of any of use using our gamer guns for self defense is almost as low as winning the lottery. Don't let the tactical excuse stop you from buying a piece of kit that will help you shoot a match several times a month.

There's nothing stopping me from shooting a few months is ammo and there's only 2 match LOL.

My point as that you will shoot your gamer guns several times a month at matches and practice. You will likely never have to shoot at people, thankfully!

Very true. And knowing me I'll transform my HBAR into a 18 inch comped ready to run gun after a year or so.

I started 3 gun right at a year ago, and have changed my kit out quite a bit over the past year.
Started with:
YHM 14.5" AR-15, Aimpoint CompM4
FNH FNX-9
FNH SLP MKI
Cheap Bladetech Revo Holster and Mag Carrier, 5.11 AR mag pouch, Taccom Dualload 6ups

Now:
Colt LE6920, 13" VTAC, Griffin brake, Magpul ACS, Vortex Viper 1-4 PST, Geissele SSA
M&P40, Apex poly FSS, TTI mag extensions
FNH SLP MKI
Bladetech belt, DOH holster, mag pouches, Taccom 6ups

Near Future:
Noveske Lower, Vltor MUR 1S, BCM 18" SS410 rifle barrel, Geissele 3G, Vortex Razor 1-6
Glock 34, TTI extensions, DP sights, SSS magwell
Benelli M2
Same belt system

I started with a Mossberg 500 Persuador. Yes the one with the pistol grip! I have always had Glocks and used my 34 from USPSA. As far as rifles go, I used the only one I had. Chinese AK-47. I started before the current administration so I never had a problem finding cheap Tul Ammo to run through it. It was a long process but I figured out that Ak's are not the ideal platform...
Fast forward----2012 Built my first AR from scratch! DGW lower with Stag upper and 16" barrel. Ace Skeleton Stock, AR Gold, AP customs 15" carbon fiber handguard, Burris Mtac with Pepr Mount. Benny Cooley comp, Arredondo magwell, and oversize release. Magpul B.A.D lever (Love this little thing). Saving up for JP low mass bcg and buffer. Then, adjustable gas block to smoth it all out.

Couldn't afford a Benelli so I picked up a Mossberg 930 Turkey version. As the JM versions weren't yet available, I just made one. Nordic components extended tube, HUGE HiViz front fiber optic and welding/Polishing from C-rums, Tactical safety switch, and G&G follower. Runs like a dream. I have opened up the mag well and polished the carrier.

I have come quite a long way getting lots of gear and figuring out what works best for me. I have been lucky to sell most of the stuff I didn't need at my local matches or craigslist/armslist.

Im running my first real 3 gun on Oct 12th!!!!!!!!!! Even if I never got to shoot one I have had more fun practicing in the last few months then I could imagine. I read brian enos book and had a couple ah ha moments at idpa and at the range and im ready to rock and roll and don't expect to get last.

im running:
xdm 5.25 in 9mm with dawson base pads
benelli sbe with +9 Nordic and carbon arms fsl12
had my coyote gun cmmg hbar with 3x9 burris.... but it quickly got a 15" Samson rail, bad lever, borrowed eotech, and some 40rnd pmags with the taccom +5 extension (however only will seat in gun with 44.....)

on the way is my benelli m1 that I picked up on gunbroker yesterday and I already have the paperwork to send it to c-rums for some work, also have an ap customs 4x4 on the way, I will have enough points on my bass pro shops CC I use for work to get a free vortex pst 1x4 in a month!

another progression I see coming is quad loading, it is really almost impossible on my unmodified sbe (almost lost my thumb nail) but im hoping that will change when I get my m1 back

oh yeah and that little surefire shot timer free ap on my iphone has made my shotgun shell reloading practice pretty productive

Im ready to kick some butt in 22 days, maybe ill even tape it and let yall laugh it up at my noob attempt 1st match.

Can I change mine up already? I've been using a 26" M2 w/ +7 Nordic tube for the past couple months, and will be shooting a Glock 35. My wife is having a baby next month, so hopefully after the winter break I'll be able to resume chootin'. I'm working on a custom G17L build off a G22 stripped frame. LW 17L slide, LW barrel, and Zev fulcrum ultimate trigger, ISMI guide rod, DP sights, ice magwell, TTI extensions.

Well, in a couple years, you can convert the jogging stroller over to a 3 gun buggy and use the diaper bag for range gear.

When I changed from a mil-spec bolt carrier to the JP bolt, buffer & spring the bolt cycled easier and smoother I am not sure if it was the coating or design of the products but when manually cycling the bolt there was a huge difference. I run a nonadjustable gas block with rifle length gas IMO one less thing to go wrong, but I always wonder just a little if I should try an adjustable gas block. You will be happy when you add the LMOS parts to your gun.

Thanks for the input Corey, I go back and forth on the adjustable, the little devil on my shoulder says, "Get it man, It's gonna make you faster!!" The little angel on my other shoulder says, "remember, you're gonna have to keep it adjusted properly for different loads... " I'm definitely a tweaker so I'm gonna take my chances and GO FAST!!
