I'll be shooting a 5.25 in production this year and I am leaning toward getting a canyon creek custom trigger job, but he has an 8 week back log so I would need to either switch up divisions mid season or wait until the end of the season to rework the action on the XDm.

My other option is to just drop a powder river kit in my self...

Does any one have a CCC and a Powder River trigger? How much difference is there, which do you suggest

I'm not sure about the CCC but I put a Powder River trigger kit with the integral over travel stop in my 5.25 XDm 9mm and I really like it. Haven't tested the pull but it seems good and the reset is very short. I'm no gunsmith but it did take me a while to fit it. Hope that helps

I'm not sure if they check at local matches, but I'm pretty sure according USPSA Production rules you can only modify the inside of your gun. So the internal parts of the trigger assembly are okay to change up, but a new trigger with the over travel stop (or any aftermarket trigger) is illegal because it is technically outside the gun. The trigger modification puts you in limited. If you were going to modify for a better trigger, I think your best bet would be the springs PRP offers and a new sear from PRP. I'm sure someone will chime in with more details.

EDIT: I am referring to the PRP drop in trigger here...not the trigger job just for clarification

21.6 Production

Sights, firing pins, firing pin retainers, extractors and
ejectors MAY be replaced with OEM or aftermarket
parts.
Any other components which are externally visible
may ONLY be replaced with OEM parts which are

offered on the specific model of gun or another
approved gun from the same manufacturer except as
specifically clarified below. Examples of external
components which may only be replaced with OEM
parts include (but are not limited to) magazine
releases, slide stops, thumb safeties and triggers.
Special Notes/Clarifications:
• Barrels are considered “external parts” and are subject to specific restrictions in 21.4 and associated
rulings.
• A factory/OEM magazine release which extends
only the length of the magazine release may be used.
A magazine release which provides larger surface
area (paddles, buttons) may only be used if it is an
OEM part available on an approved model of gun.
• Externally-visible parts from “custom shop” guns
will only be considered “OEM parts” if the customshop gun

Shoot limited so you can buy the trigger! :)

IMHO go with Springer Precision they got my trigger down to 1 7/8 pull and it was the best trigger I have ever felt in a Polymer Framed gun, but like I said that's just my Opinion and you know what they are like.

Pretty sure PRP advertises it's trigger kits and triggers are approved for production and available as a factory installed option.

I just installed a springer trigger for a new shooter over the weekend in his XDM 5 1/4.
Pretty nice setup. Smooth as glass.

Just installed the PRP Match kit myself and from reading other people's warnings it made me a little paranoid! Watched the install video a few times to make sure everything was good, It took me over 4 hours... Not just to install, but make sure I shaved the overtravel tab to the perfect spot. Spent over an hour with fine sand paper and realized I had a ways to go. Brought out the metal file and shaved until the stryker was beginning to move. At that point it was back to fine sand paper. Between re-installing and taking apart all the guts/trigger it took a minute.

BUT the trigger is rediculously smooth and perfectly drops the hammer everytime. Was well worth the time spent upgrading it!
I would highly recommend this trigger kit for the XD XDS or XDM for those that enjoy doing their own work on firearms.

Also changed out the enhanced stryker spring and reduced 14lb recoil spring with wolff's to allow correct cycling with use of the Springer Precision 2 Port Shorty. The pistol is starting to get pretty nice feeling!

Waiting for Truglo TFX sights to come in now, anyone been able to use them yet!? Have to replace the supressor irons that came on the gun when I traded, the extra height does not feel right.
