Has anybody seen one of these bad boys in stores? The fiber front, adjustable rear sights, and coffin cut on to of the slide make it look like a Glock after you upgrade the sights. I think Springer just jumped head first into the Production division. Well done

I loed the fit, feel and quality of the XDM9 I had but the tall slide and shorter sight radius made it flip more than my Glock 34. I am hoping the extra 1" changes that. If it does I might have found my new production gun.

I'm curious about this gun now. I was looking at an M&P pro since i like the grip alittle more than a G34, but now this one comes with competition sights on it already...

Good point! That saves $100 over the Glock 34 right there. I bet they come out with another one of the Springfield range kits that gives you extra mags and/or a holster and mag pouches too.

and in that pic it shows 3 mags!!! that is nice also....man this makes me want to sell my current XDM for this one.... but my wife would kill me... if someone else gets one i at least want to hold it!!!!

Benjamin, when you get yours I want to shoot it!

I didn't see anything about the trigger being different on this model for competition, did I miss it?

I shot one at the H&H expo. The grip was a very good shape and extremely comfortable fit, and provided a high grip. It was more accurate than me, but that's no surprise. The sights were great, like what about every USPSA shooter puts on their gun. Well balanced. I thought the grip safety might be a touch bumpy like the stock XDs, but it was very light and not noticeable at all. Etc. I posted the lone con about it in the General Firearm discussion area, which is the location of the slide release, but it might be just too big on second thought. It's relatively meaty and large, and also this is my opinion. The trigger was what I would say is ideal or near to it, but I don't do trigger jobs for a living. And I'm out.

I ordered one from the Heartland guys a couple of weeks ago and should have it next week, can't wait to shoot it :72:

I wish they would dump those cheesy holsters and mag pouches from the kit and give you another 2 mags. I guess when your just getting started the extra stuff isn't cheesy until you meet David Elderton at a match and he hands you his card and says you need a better holster, call me. It's obvious this is the production division gun why not toss in the extra 2 mags from the beginning?

The big question remains...can we get Cyrwus to touch up the triggers for us?

I shot the one H&H has for rent a couple days after they got it in. I had an XD40 4" and thought that this would be it's replacement.

When I picked it up, it seemed very light for a full size. The slide cutout definately makes a difference. The trigger is exactly the same as the other XDm's, with a reset comparable to a Glock, if not a bit shorter. I'm not the greatest pistol shooter, but I could keep offhand doubles in the center 5" with the target all the way back (25yds, I think) in the first mag. I've never been a thumb's up shooter so the slide lock wasn't an issue. Front FO is very nice, even in dim lane lighting. As said before, this looks to be SA's bid for the top of the production class.

I might still get one, but I'll wait a while. SA's always good about offering a two mag for $25 package once a model's sales slow down. They did with the XDs and later the XDms. The $800 that H&H wants for it is crazy, right around $700 elsewhere. It seems worth it, as an XDm 4.5" 9mm + FO front + rear adjustable + an extra mag would run about the same with .75" less barrel.

I agree with Jesse that SA should ditch the craptastic holsters. I haven't tried the paddle one that comes with the XDm, but if it's anything like the standard XD, it's BS. The mag loader is nice though; those last 3 rounds are a pain in the thumb.

I got mine and sent it Powder River for the the trigger job and Dawson .100 FO front sight. The stock trigger is the same as my XDM 9 before I had the trigger done, 5-6 lbs. The FO sight it comes with is too fat. I love my XDM, so I'm sure I will love this. I will report back next week.

I found out shortly after my last post that the slide stop/release lever is in the same place on all XDs. Lame. Maybe it's for small girl hands. :57:

Actually I kind of like it, the slide release just contacts my thumb and moves slightly when the last round goes into the chamber, sometimes useful........ I do love this new pistol even though I would not consider my hands girlish :P

I submitted my info for that mag promotion electronically last night. Let's see how long it takes...
+1 for sooner state pawn. Only place I've seen locally that has them.
