posted this on enos fyi..but wanted to get feedback here

i would like to buy the 5.25 and get a trigger job done on it, but don't see any reason to buy the gun and then ship it out to get the work done. after some research buying the full gun from a custom place (for example canyon creek is 1250) is just too much for me to spend. I already have the mag ext. for it and basically just want the trigger done (unless there is something else major i am missing that should be done).. it will be my 3gun pistol... so far the best route seems to be buying from buds gun shop (713, shipped), shipping it straight to canyon creek and then having the gun shipped to me... is there a better route to take??

buy the 5.25 and hoot it as is. Have you felt the trigger on one? If not, dont be in a hurry to mod it, its pretty nice.

you are not allowed to post in this thread, because it was your trigger jobs that spoiled me!!!!! is the trigger different than the 4.25 XDM

Benjamin, you're more than welcome to run mine at a match (for the whole match) anytime you want to see what you think. Just let me know.

Might want to consider this:

I know when I got my 5.25 the trigger was the same as any other XDm pistol which is ok just not NICE. I installed a Springer Precision trigger in mine and it came out pretty nice, but I'm sure someone like Mike could even make it better.

Wes

I installed the same trigger Wes did. Like he said its pretty nice. Not the most perfect trigger but alot better. You are welcome to take it for a test drive at the next Heartland match. Make sure the mag is locked in before you start shooting.

I have a 5.25 9mm with stock trigger and a 5.25 .45 ACP with a PRP trigger kit installed which provides 3.5 - 4.5 lbs trigger pull. I could meet you at Heartland if you want to compare the two. You can contact me via email at [email protected]

Sam

They are supposed to come with three mags. For a while Springfield was offering an additional three mags plus a second mag holster. Now I have six factory mags for my 9mm.

Are you looking for a 9 or a 45? I might be convinced to part with my 45 (already has a PRP trigger kit and a Patriot magwell).

If you go with the 45. I have 3 new extra mags and pouch. Very cheap. Springfield sent them to me by mistake. I shoot a 9mm. The said keep them and will send the 9mms
