WTS LNIB AR15 Upper $400

Damn dude, glad you're OK!!!
Too bad about the rifle.
Are you going to send it back to JP?
What did the guys come up with?
What ammo were you shooting?

You have a rifle to shoot at High Plains?
You can use my Loki if you want, I'll be shooting RF.

That's a heck of a kaboom.

For the same size chunk of material, forged will have a higher yield strength, but billet will have more energy absorption potential for an event like this.

correct, but the forged & billet receivers aren't the same size chunk of metal.
The Billet receivers are thicker material.

27 grains of HS6 lol

I'm not familiar with this powder so please explain.

I was going to mention that, but figured it would put everyone to sleep. Wall is right, one of the reasons I didn't go with a Loki Billet set is the weight, I was trying to shave every once I could.

Tony some guys love HS6 in 9major. If that's what he did I can totally understand the damage. Too bad he wasn't shooting over a chrono when it happened, now that would be interesting.

unlike a heavy bulky barrel, being in the middle of the gun the weight difference isn't really noticeable.
With a heavy barrel or handguard, all of that mass is being swung around during target transitions.
Being centrally located, the receivers don't move near as much during those same target transitions.

That said, you will notice the extra weight after carrying it around all day though :)

That's what I was trying to alleviate. My shotguns are already a tanks, I think I may have the heaviest 870 on the planet and it seems as heavy as the SLP. Throw either of them and my M1A in the bag together and you got a load. Just trying to cut where I can.
