it was 10:25 and we have either been nuked or Enoree and the upstate just had the first earthquake i ever felt.

it was kind of a rumble that moved through for about 10,12 seconds.

nothing rattled but the house was trembling.

i called WSPA and they said the phones just started lighting up. they are awaiting conforfation from the US geological survey folks and to watch the news at 11.

Some people here in Charleston said they felt it. I am in a direct take-off path from the Airport / Air Force Base so if I felt it I'm sure I ignored it as I do all the other rumblings.

When I got out of the Army I was awoken in the middle of the night by an earthquake (~ 3.0 on the Richter) originating in Mill Spring, NC. The shaking and the sound snapped me out of bed and for the next few minutes I was straining to look out the windows while thinking we were under a mortar attack. Then I remembered I wasn't anywhere hostile...

Felt it in Simpsonville. The dog jumped up off the couch, then we started shaking. It wasn't as big as the last one I felt.

I was laying on the couch and felt in Anderson. Felt a slight rumble, water in the fish tank got ripply, and then felt the main event for a few seconds. Nothing really rattled but the fish tank water.

Dogs perked their ears but not much else.

Temper foam mattress = not waking up in an earthquake, even when they originate in summerville which is purty darn close.

Only one I've ever felt was while living in Japan, and that was a 4.5 I think. I thought is was a really big truck going by until told differently.

Someday, somewhere, I won't live in a flight path or next to a train or major highway and I won't have to get used to all the rumbling.

Shook for a few seconds in Columbia but that was it. Called my mom in GA and she had felt that too, so got ahold of one of my GIS friends who was frantically searching for info. ^_^
