Liberal got your tongue?
All I've been doing lately is finishing my rifle build and relaxing. Going to Boggy Head Monday the 20th if anyone wants to join me. Shoot for a little while then I have to get back home to do some modifications to the jeep.
Spring semester starts today so until June, work all day, school all night. 70 hours into my 123 hour BS in Computer Science. It damn well better be worth it! At the current rate I'm still looking at at least 1.5 to 2 years. If I didn't have to work I'd be almost done by now.
Looking to retire from the reserves in a couple years as well, just about tired of it and the new soldiers (if you want to call them that) are not too promising. For every good one we have, two or three are about worthless. If we could get deployed and I could take them down range I could probably salvage them but since many have been in 4 or 5 years and gone no where, their career is just one weekend a month and as long as they get paid and money for college. I work hard with mine and they aren't too bad, but other NCO's seem to care or less and theirs struggle. I obviously dont want another war, but it sure would be nice to get mobilized for something, like peace-keeping in Africa or something.
Not much else going on.

What ya planning on doing to the jeep?

3.5" lift and some flexible flat fender flares. Christmas gift from my son-in-law. I converted him to a jeeper, now he's more fanatical than I am. ;) After I find the right scope for the Grendel I'll pick up a new winch, then who knows. I guess a lot depends on if we get sequestered or have shut-downs again this year.

i have 2 cast iron transfer cases, (chevy 205). they have gears instead of a chain and wont break like the aluminum ones.

if you dont have a chevy 350 trans a different adapter will hook you right up. wait. which side is the front diff housing on on a jeep?

take your pick, $350. they used to be $500 when you could find them.

look at Davidautofull at you tube. there are 2 short vids of my Blazer. i replaced all the running gear but the engine.

one ton axles, 4.56 gears and a double transfer case. 1 to 1, 2 to 1, and 4 to 1 ratios. 40 inch tires on 17 inch beadlocks and just 4 inchs of lift, springs front and back. no spacers to fall out. inside the rear is a detroit locker. inside the house is a detroit locker for the front. i need to work on that.

well here they are.

A 350 conversion would be a fun project. Maybe down the road. Good thing about them is the mileage isn't any worse with a ton more power. I had a buddy a long time ago with an awesome K-5 Blazer that sat on top of a 12" lift, 44's, and don't know what else. I'll never figure out how we survived some of his driving.

Where are you getting your CS degree from? I got my degree in Computer Information Systems myself. I enjoy it most days.

I miss my Cherokee. I don't miss that the frame was rusting in half, but nonetheless. That vehicle was a true multitool - it did almost everything passably well.

On the quiet note -

Anyone here on ZombieSquad? Not for the scifi aspect but for the camping/trekking/survival aspect.

land cruisers are good 4x4s.

i want to find a complete s-10 truck or blazer and strip the rust bucket off my k-5 frame and replace it.

even a ranger with xtra cab, make the workings look better.
