I've been wanting to try to make a couple holsters, mag pouches, sheaths, etc. I ordered some 12"x12" sheets to play with. Anybody care to share preferred methods used to form it or some lessons learned?

Kydex will shrink a bit when you heat it so keep that in mind when cutting parts to rough size.

Wear gloves, hot kydex is hot.

Wear gloves, use a heat gun. for a press I use a couple of old pieces of carpet pad, then stand on them. You can reheat and try again if it's not right the first time. Last is post pics. Good luck.

This was my first attempt. The loop needed to be a bit longer to tie in with retention screws under the dust cover so I had to put one under the trigger guard. I'll think the next one out a little better.

lose the screw below the trigger guard, youll chew up your middle finger.

Yeah, next one I make will have screws under just the dust cover and will be trimmed close to the trigger guard. This was my first try. I think I should probably order some .093" Kydex instead of .080". I might be able to reform this one to have enough retention to remove the screw under the trigger guard.

For those of you that have made holsters, where did you find the screws, grommets and threaded inserts? I just stole a couple from another holster for the one I made. I'd like to order a bunch.
