Wilson Combat Open House at Heartland!

I did want to shoot them, even though they didn't feel right.

I did stop by to check them out, but couldn't make myself buy ammo to shoot a gun that felt all wrong in my hands. That and the words "20 weeks backordered" pushed me away.

Does it make me a bad person for liking the grip and feel of my Glock 30 more than that of a high-end 1911?

It's ok... we will get you back on your meds soon enough.

Wilson may have a 20 week back order... but if you use most of the "custom" 1911 makers be prepared to send off a deposit... make and loose the balance several times over the year or so your gonna wait for the gun to finish up.

I am not a world class pistol hand... but I never could understand this "feel" thing. I bet I can run your Glock as well as I do a 1911. If you want to use a handgun as a defensive tool...in my opinion, a "mediocre" guy who can make do with a revolver, 1911, High power or Jennings-Bryco is well ahead of some other folks when the chips are down.

Wilson and Baer are just the best in breed as far as the semi-production custom 1911's go. You really can't compare them to another make- they are just not the same.

OK, we each bring a handgun of our choice to Heartland next week and we will switch guns right before the buzzer goes off. Challenge accepted!

Don't let my gutterball mind ruin all of your fun!
I am kinda curious to see how those little Glocks shoot. Last Glock I shot was a GenI 17... when Gen I's were new. 82 or 85 --- long ago.

Handing off to a strange gun... for 4 stages? The highpoint in "battle feild pickup".

( opp's ...I gave him something to work with)

Wilson 1911 ruined my trigger finger with glocks... I'm pretty accurate with glocks, but a friend of mine let me borrow his wilson and I was shooting and actually hitting dime sized stickers at about 15-20 yards.

Went back to the glock after shooting the wilson and my 2-3" groups with the glock went to $hit and I was all over the place. :(

Pretty much had to shoot another 100 rounds just to relearn shooting my glock again after 50 rounds on the wilson with a sweet sweet trigger.

Anyways, after that day at the range, I finally got what all the fuss is about.
