Wife decided she wants to carry...what?

So my wife got tired of carrying one of my big .45s, so we went to look at a couple for her the other day. When she's been asked why she prefers a .45, her answer - because there isn't a .46! She liked the feel of the Glock 36 over the 30, the M&P and XD45 so she bought it.

And then three days later I went and bought one for myself.

One that I believe is overlooked is the Ruger SP101 with a bobbed hammer and 2-1/4" barrel. Slightly bigger/heavier than the J frame and much easier to shoot. Plus it's a 357.

^ Good info here. And and you can train/shoot .38s if you choose.

I've always loved Ruger revolvers. My first "legal" handgun purchase was a GP100 that is still one of my all time favorites. I bought an SP101 to carry years later, it felt great in my hands, spent good money on better grips and a CW holster, and I did not like it at all. I dreaded shooting it. It was a good gun, it just didn't fit my big hands, and too heavy for its size for my comfort as a CW. I gave it to my wife for a purse gun, but she hated shooting it as well - even with .38s. So I traded it for an M&P .45 and went on down the road.

I'll own one again, I'm sure. I love the durability, it's a great revolver. And at this point in my life it's becoming more about collecting than neccessity.

Well I have two women in my life that I love and both of them carry. My mom has a hamerless .38 and she loves it. My girl friend has a 22lr. revolver and she loves that. I know lots of you are going to say a 22lr. isn't big enough to stop an agressor, but honestly if she ever has to pull out the gun and shoot someone I'm pretty sure she is a good enough for a head shot. Plus she is comfortable with the recoil and can place a quick double tap.
