Why no IDPA?

There are no 30yd shots in the idpa classifier.
I just looked at the idpa classifier diagrams...the longest shots are at 20yds
idpa has an aversion to long range stuff (cuz if its long range, its not really 'defensive')
They even have a rule about it:

Seventy-five percent (75%) of all shots required in a match must be fifteen (15) yards or less. No shots longer than twenty-five (25) yards may be required in scenario stages. 35-yard shots are only allowed in standard stages and limited to 6 rounds per stage.

Of course if its all 'defensive' shooting, shouldnt all the stages be back-up or retreating stages?

165 yard pistol shot saves cop's life.

Ah, yeah, sorry, typo. I meant 20 yards. I suck so that's "long range" to me. I'm still at the stage where I either take forever at shots longer than 15 yards and get decent hits or I rush it and I get complete garbage.

By the way, if your mind hasn't slammed shut yet, take a look at this and let me know if I'm still a duffer like everyone else on this forum supposedly is. I'm under Tactical, it shouldn't take very long to find my name.

Pfft... you didn't beat Nils so how good can you really be? Duffer.. :D

In the classifier there are no shots longer than 20 yards....we shoot 35 yards here regularly.

Seems like some stage designers do build retreating stages.... but like every other god dammned thing in life comprises prevail.

I can make the long pistol shots, like Long Range Standards, I just can't afford the wardrobe. Do you guys think a fishing vest effects one's ability to shoot far away?

Just wear a tux and shoot a Walther P99 like Pierce Brosnan as James Bond. You'd get all the ladies and be shooting from concealment.
