Who's voting for Ron Paul Saturday?

Out of all the contestants...Ron Paul is by far the best choice for this country and it's future....if we still have one.

Whether or not people agree with all of his policies (and let's face it, what candidate do we or ever have we agreed with 100%?) my reasons for voting for Ron Paul are:

1. He wants to return the powers to the States and end the Fed.
2. He wants to cut 1.7 trillion dollars in his first year
3. To stand with the American People, Ron Paul would take a salary of $39,336, approximately equal to the median personal income of the American worker instead of the regular Presidental salary of $400,000
4. He has NEVER voted for a federal restriction on gun ownership.
5. He voted against the Patriot Act; One of only 3 Republicans to do so
6. Ron Paul is the only candidate running that will end government regulation of marriage and get the government out of our personal life
7. Has continually fought for protection of the 2nd Amendment which guarantees the right to bear arms
8. Created a bill that would prohibit a United Nations tax on firearms
9. Received the Defender of the Second Amendment Award by the Gun Owners of America organization
10. Ron Paul is one of the outstanding leaders fighting for a stronger national defense. As a former Air Force officer, he knows well the needs of our armed forces, and he always puts them first.
11. He has received twice as many donations from the military as the rest of the candidates combined.

There are more, and I'm not out to convince anyone to vote for him if they don't want to; we all have to go with who we believe is best. Happy voting, y'all! See some of you tomorrow for coffee!

C_Carson makes some really great points, Certainly worth considering.

I like that this thread hasn't devolved into a pissing match even though there are divergent opinions.

I watched the Video on UTube last named. It is called" What the FBI Thinks Of Ron Paul"

Strengthened my decision to vote for him...

To be honest, I'm not too sure it matters who you vote for in the primary. I don't think the GOP machine is going to let anyone other than Mitt get the nomination. So the question in my mind is, who do you vote for in the general election? The man they call Big Government, or Obama? They are both terrible on the second amendment, as well as almost everything else. I suppose I would have to hold my nose and fire Obama, knowing that the next goon in office will leave a different bad taste. :(

Dr. Paul does have one of my favorite quotes. I'm not going to look it up so go easy on my if it's not 100%.

The communists have a saying; If a communist wanted to hang a capitalist, the capitalist would sell him the rope. This is only half true. We wouldn't sell them the rope, we would give it to them.

Wow!
I get my thread locked last monday, step out for a long smoke break and when i return....voilla! unlocked and 3 pages long!

Seriously though, I strongly believe in personal liberty and very minimal gov't as part of my life and are of the utmost importance. Ron Paul is the only candidate that beleives and actually lives by the US Constitution.
He got my vote 30 min. ago.

As far as the comment about the GOP machine... i think it has a very sad truth to it.

Thank you all for having a civil discussion. other forums, well, are not as mature as y'all, to put it mildly... :-)

Cheers!

Ritter it had to be locked "as a precaution and before it got out of hand" so that we the mods and admins could decide the best way to deal with the political threads especially this year. Several other forums I frequent have went to a no political thread policy because it has already gotten way out of hand.

With that said I personally want to thank everyone for keeping this thread civil.

Correction: it never needed to be locked in the first place. It did bring up the issue of political threads with all the mods and admins; which was important. We discussed it, and it has been resolved. Carry on.

I will second Schultz on thanking everyone for being civil here. We have a great community, and you guys are the ones that make this corner of the web so great!

I checked the County results today,

Paul came in 2nd in Abbeville County. That was his only finish above 3rd as far as I could tell.

Gingrich won all but Richland, Chas, and Beaufort counties.

Seems there was a pretty clear statement in the Palmetto State.
