I have this B&K 2209 sound level meter and there is a problem with the meter.
When the dial is turned to battery check it reads accuractly but on all other settings the needle pegs out to the maximum reading.
I need to find someone who can check it out and see if it can be repaired.
The factory says that it is to old to repair and I should just get a new one but I don't want a new one, I want this one fixed.

I do, but I'm not in your area. I'd bet the condenser is bad, or another type of capacitor in it, just because it looks old. Repairing something at a component level nowadays is generally too labor intense to be worth doing, and finding equivalent parts is often tough. Electronics manufacturing changes constantly. Do you have a manual with schematics? It doesn't seem like it would be that complex, but doing a repair without schematics is truly awful. Maybe if you double-post on OSA you'll get someone in the Tulsa area to respond.

I'll take a look at it, if you want to bring it to OKC, but you'll probably have to leave it for a bit. I have a busy life.
