So what's the word on the street?

LT139 or LT104?

Scope will have about 3.3" eye relief.

I'm about 90% sure this is the one I'm going with:

Scotty,
Have you checked out the new Burris Tac30? It is a true 1-4 and is getting great reviews and is in the same price point.. As far as the mount, quite a few really really like the JP mount. Might want to check them out as well..

Mike

Personally, I would go with the LT-139 because of the extended eye relief. I have a LT-104 with my tr20 and a LT-139 with my tr24. I run nose to charging handle so I mount my optic pretty far forward.

I don't see the LT134??? Was that a typo? I see my favorite the LT139. There is also a taller LT135 that you wouldn't need with a 24 mm objective unless you like to shoot with your head straight up or something.

I know a guy that has a brand new LT139 that he would sell you for $185 with some dust and a beeradillo. You could have you mount and eat it too at the okcgc match Saturday.

I have run the LT104 on a TR24 and it sucked because I could get my nose up to the charging handle. I ran a LT139 on my TR21, TR24, Millet DMS, and Z6i. I don't need it on the Swaro because the eye relief is more flexible buy it allows me to place the scope where I want it not just all the way forward in the rings and all the way forward on the rail.

Speaking of rails. If you have a full length rail in your handguard you can get the LT104 and just keep moving it forward.

Yeah Jesse it is the LT139. I don't have a railed forearm at all (plain Jane M&P15 rifle) and that's kind what concerned me about the the 139. Will it extend out over a std. M4 handguard? Looks like it will but will be very close. I'm hoping NOT to have to do that at all, but I'm not sure how all this is going to shake out.

Do you still have that trijicon you still have listed over on enos?

I sold the trijicons. I saw a NIB meopta over there a little while back for like $650. I think Gose had it for sale. Those are nice too. I almost bought it to test.

The LT104 and LT139 will both stick out over the handguard I'm afraid. The 139 will do it just an inch or so more so. It looks weird to me still but it's the nature of the beast if you want to get up on the rifle. Your a big SOB like Mr. Miller so you might stay back more on the gun with your longer ares and the stock extended more. Your scope might be able to sit back some.

That's kind of what I'm thinking too, but I'm going to a Vltor A-5 stock, rifle length tube, buffer and spring, so I dunno. I know the scope is going to stick out past the upper, which is fine, I just don't want the base any farther forward than the pic rail on the receiver. That would just be funky, plus I'm not sure it would hold or re-zero well.

Now I'm following you. I was confused!!! That would be odd. I ordered my TR24 direct from LaRue with their recommended LT140. I mounted it up, shot it, and sent it back to trade it out for the LT139 at no cost. So if you buy direct and don't like what you end up with or if you ordered all 3 and sent two back your only out $5-$10 worth of small flat rate boxes. You are welcome to come over after the match saturday and mount your scope in my extra LT139. If you don't have the glass yet we can do it anytime. Maybe between now and then you can mount GT...'s gun and see how that Big and Tall mount feels to you.

I dug up some pics and I think the 139 is gonna be the one. Seeing them mounted sheds a lot of light on the subject. I got confused by the faq on Larue's site. They specifically state "Many scopes run in the 3-4" range, in which the standard LT104 SPR/M4 mount will be ideal. If your scope has very long eye relief, such as 5-6", the LT139 SPR-E mount will be perfect".

But I'm seeing a whole bunch of folks agreeing with you in that the 139 seems to be the most popular for use with the same scopes I'm eyeballing, so I'm guessing it must work well in the 3-4" range.

Edit: I forgot that one reason for going to the scope is to get just a touch closer to bore centerline. I'm running an Aimpoint in a riser to clear the FSB and it's up there. Now if I can just find Mikey to do some chopping....
