Which Glock for Concealed Carry

Why would you want to put a 26 slide on a 19 frame? The frame is the part of the gun you have to conceal and keep from printing, not the barrel. If you like the feel of the 19 I would get that. I have thought about getting another 17 and having Mike chop the handle down to 26 sized handle for when I wear tighter shirts.

Comfort. Less gun sticking in my back.

I'm with snake man on this one. The barrel is sticking down your pants (or hip) and the grip is the part that prints. A G19 with a 26 grip/frame would be a sweet carry. Now if you care carrying in the small of your back, then that might be a different story because the grip is UP!

That's what I'm liking. 4-5:00. I got a badonka booty. I could hide Rusty's 3 gun rifle above that thing.

The small grips make the gun feel like it could be easily taken from me or dropped in a struggle.

Good observation IMO. It's harder for me to get a firing grip in my draw process using my subcompact XD vs my G17. I would think a short barrel/slide to be advantageous in CQC since an opponent has less volume of gun to grab/twist/point back at you. But that's just my hypothesis.

Concealment is not a big problem for me. Although I think being taller actually makes it harder because a normal L or XL size shirt doesn't come as far past the belt line as on a shorter person.

I carry G21 in a modified Bladetech Eclipse IWB. For the longest time I used a Tagua OWB, which was nice, but I love this Bladetech setup. (Yes I have a grip condom. I need to have Mike do some stippling I just can't be without my firearm, duty weapon.)

That's a little bit of Blade-Tech and a little bit of Crossbreed..........Blade-Breed? Cross-Tech? Was the Eclipse an IWB originally?

Right...right...Little bit of both, more Blade-Tech and Crossbreed. Not originally an IWB, but the design is slim enough that it worked.

I have a Glock 17 right now. I want to get David Elderton to make me one of his Kytac holsters for OWB CC. Before I do so I thought I would ask you guys who carries a G17 and have you tried the G19 or G26. I'd like to start with the best platform for the job. I like shooting the G17 size wise but I have only handled the smaller frame models briefly and have never shot them. So I don't know how the size affects shootability. I am looking for advice on the shootability vs. carryability onteh big vs. small guns. I plan to use just T-Shirts and sweatshirts for concealment if possible. Any help suggestions or ideas would be appreciated.

i like my glock 30 big bang small package

I had a Glock 27 at one point. Bought the finger grip mag extensions so that it was easier/more comfortable to shoot. Turned out to be almost the same grip length as a Glock 19. Needless to say, I traded the 27 for a 19, got more rounds, less recoil, and the light rail if I so choose to mount a light. Carry a 17 magazine as an extra, and enjoy life with confidence.

I know Jesse has already moved on, but I thought I would still post a picture of my G26 carried in a Kytac Braveheart so you can see how it rides etc. I have carried a G23 and, even though they are very close in size to this gun, It never felt right for me.
