Well-Known Fanatic
Most that know me from the other forum know I don't care for Glocks; however, a little advice from someone who has had to carry them for duty and off-duty while an LEO in Georgia. I know lots of folks love the babies, and I'm not trying to sway you into another gun, this is just my experience, and what I've seen on the range during quals with duty and off-duty guns. Depending on your hand size, and you really have to have some small hands, usually the full size, or compact are the best for carry on or off duty due to the ability to reload quickly if needed. With the baby Glocks you have to get that little pinky out of the way, and if your not careful you'll roll some hide from your palm into the magwell. I've done it myself with a G27, and have seen lots of other folks do the same with the little short mags. I'm a firm beleiver in if your going to carry the baby Glock carry the next larger guns mag as a reload. Your still going to have to get that pinky out of the way, but your chances of rolling some meat into the mag well are less. Now back to your hand size, I've seen this happen with the compact models as well, just not as often. Its best to hold the gun in your hand without the mag in, and see if you can see part of your palm past the grip, if you can get yourself some of the mags for the next larger gun, and use those for your reloads.
I know alot of folks don't practice with their carry guns like they do with their competition guns, but you just may need to, cause if you catch that pinky, or palm in that magwell its going to hurt!!
