Anybody have any input or feedback on what they like, don't like, look for in flip-up back-up iron sights? Looking for value, but not to misread as cheap. I see quite a range from the Yankee Hills and Troys down to the Magpuls then way down to the Snipers, UTG's and NCStars. Is this truly one of those "get what you pay for" things? I have applications for both same plane and gas block mount.

AIM has a set of Troy for $150

I have both magpul moe flip up sights and Midwest industries for a gas block height. I like the magpul a little better than the midwest due to weight, spring loaded assist, and lower profile. The midwest are really well made and are rock solid when raised. They barely fit under my scope in the rear and I actually had to trim some of my scope lens cap to fit. The front sight on the gas block has to fold forward to fit Which I don't really care for. Of course you can't run the magpul on a gas block due to heat.

I run an ARMS #41-B-L Silhouette Folding Front Sight on my 6.8, and am pretty impressed with it's durability in general. I use a cheapo rear flip sight, as it just sits on the receiver rail near my face it's not likely to come into hard contact with anything, and if it does I'm probably using my face wrong anyway.

I actually like the Magpul Gen.2 folding sights better than the troys. No real reason, I just like them better.

I got a great deal on a real Knights Armament USMC 600m rear folder ($45) and am going to couple it with a Samson front. I'd probably do a MI or Samson. The Magpul PRO just doesn't do it for me.

PSA's aluminum folders are a decent deal but I can't attest to the quality of them.

Same here, sweet deal those were!

I just stumbled into a complete set of LWRC Skirmish sights from a friend for a price too low to post.
