Which grip would you recommend for a 2011.

I'm used to 1911's and have small hands. Prefer metal but not a must.

Quite frankly the grip on Feegee's 2011 you've been shooting is about as good as it gets. Possibly it could stand some increased texture, but if I had it I would run that ***** the way it is.

I like the grip texture and feel a lot. It still feels big to me though. If it doesn't get any smaller, then that's what I will get for my build.

Was really curious if the infinity was any smaller than the STI aluminum.

STI just started offering the aluminum grips again
Yes, they're bigger than the textured plastic grips. Mike reduces them before texturing.
You can try mine out & see if you think it fits your hands better.

Infinity grip won't fit an STI, so you'd have to get an Infinity gun.
The only other metal grip option is the Phoenix Trinity grip which comes in Aluminum, Stainless & Titanium.
They come in 3 different grades of texture from smooth to aggressive.
They're also pretty big comparatively, similar to the STI.
GT has one, you could check his out.

You can order a SVI steel grip and install it on an STI pistol. I have no idea how intensive the work is. Depending on options you can hit $750 pretty easily buying an infinity grip.

When you compare the SV and PT grips side by side the SV feels narrower but just as long front to back. The SV grip also has a little more rounded feel to it. Each grip has a decent undercut done from the factory.

You are welcome to shoot my limited gun at the next match.

IMO (and others) metal grips feel "harsher" under recoil than polymer grips, their niche in my opinion is that it settles down the dot quicker when shooting open.

Tony,

I'll check yours out next match. It would be good to see where my hands lay before buying one.

GT,

I'll take you up on that when I get back from the Florida open.

Burk,

Thanks for the link. I'll check them out.

Cyrus,

Thanks for the advice as well. You know it may just mean you sold another job though.
