Why is it that every time it's forecasted to snow 2 inches, there's a run on every grocery store in Oklahoma? I'm not from here so I need someone to explain this to me.

I needed to pick up some bread and I could only find a lone loaf of the expensive Pepperidge Farm stuff.

Some Oklahomans definitely like to over react to any kind of weather. In fact, seems like most of us have a serious fetish with any kind of weather -- I mean, what other TV stations in the country pre-empts national shows just so they can cover a day when it is really foggy out?

Evansville IN, we call it weather porn. The weathercasters here whip themselves up into a near orgasmic frenzy at just the threat if a thunderstorm.

Same reason they will track a tornado from Bumfrick, New Mexico all the way to some wheatfeild out past Enid. The media weather service needs to get somebody to watch... said watchers panic and the stores empty out

My only b*tch about Oklahoma is the lack of a snow plow plan. OKDOT has not figured out that when it snows you get out ahead of it... and on the interstate you run trucks 3 wide - and clean the shoulders off the next day. Giving one truck a ten mile stretch and sending them home to dodge overtime don't feed the bull dog.

Plowing snow is not rocket science. OKC NEVER cleans up secondary routes and the city looks like a skating rink for days after the event.
