I've shot a few pistol matches and now i'm absolutly hooked so i'm looking to get into my first 3 gun match. is the next one (in oklahoma) on May 26th @ OKCGC? Unless i'm struck by lighting (or my wife) i plan to be there.

i've pretty much got all of my gear set and ready to go except some shell caddies and i plan on getting in touch with Wall this week about those.

heres my gear...

Benelli nova with a +6 extension (10+1)
Beretta 92fs with (4) 15 rd mags
Rock River ATH with iron sights (Troy Industries battlesight front and Dioptic rear) and (3) 30 rd mags

so i think i'm good to go there. I've got a few questions...

1. what division should i be shooting in? tactical non magnified?
2. do i need a sling for my rifle or shotgun?
3. do we lug all of our gear from stage to stage? do i need a cart?

also, it might be to way to early for this but i'm looking for someone to squad up with. someone that knows the ropes and can hold my hand and wipe my snot nose if need be.

last but not least, does anyone from ponca city, enid or even Tulsa want to carpool? I'm always looking for some new shooting buddies.

Feel free to offer advice and comments. i'll be looking to introduce myself to as many guys as possible at the match. i'm always looking to meet some fellow shooters.

1. Yes; nonmagnified or limited as some call it
2. No slings usually. The MD will usually say of one is needed in the match announcement
3. You lug your gear from stage to stage. A cart isn't a bad idea.

There's a match just across the red river this Sunday. I have plenty of she'll caddies for ya to borrow.

I hear theres a novice 3-gunner up by Guthrie who has a range by his house call Red Dirt or something like that. He should put some matches together...

No public 3 gun in Guthrie. AD over been goes into town. Weekly shotgun matches are a different story.

I'm working on getting walks built. I cut steel for 31 okcgc style walls. Gonna have some beets tonight and cut the pipe and band for the bases. Right now I'm putting the finishing touches on the back been of the 75X105 yard half wooded bay. I have four 25x30 bays and we can do a 130 yard jungle run down the back of the bays. I plan to run 6-7 fast stages. Every may h we will do a shoot one load eight shoot one stage so everyone can see how important it is to practice your reloads and how that practice is paying off. I'm thinking we will shoot the same match on back-to-back weeks so my lazy ass doesn't have to reset stages every week and you can skip a week or come get redemption for the stages that got you. I am toying with the idea of a $5 mulligan per match as well. Lots of ideas just need to finish the range.

Anyone that has a portable MIG welder and knows how to use it will get on the short list to be INVITED to shoot with the Semi-Pros!

I'm thinking this wil be a show up anytime after 3:00 with your buddy, grab a stage diagram, timer, scoresheets and walky talkie and shoot when your ready kind of thing but I'm not sure y'all can be trusted to score yourselves.

Appreciate the offer Jesse, this weekend doesn't work with my schedule. I did just order some ammo and some shell caddies so I'll see everyone at the next okcgc 3 gun. Super stoked, it can't get here fast enough!
