What's up with cargo pants and 3-Gun?

I spend a fair amount of time watching 3-Gun videos, and compete whenever I can. There seem to be an increasing number of people wearing cargo pants, and I'm not sure why. What's up with that? Knee protection? Afraid of ticks? "Dynamic Critical Incident"-wear? It just seems crazy to be wearing pants in the summer. Summer in America has been very hot this year.

I wear cargo shorts all summer. Anything about 70 and it's shorts time for me. My sweaty ballz may not get along so well with my new Mascot Pants. Them boys like to breathe in the summer.

A few times a year I shoot well enough that I'm tempted to dance like MCHammer. I'm not sure the extra wind resistance and lack of pockets from the parachute pants would help my cause much.

I like the cargo's because it gives me a place to keep my Skittles and Snicker bars.

I tried the assless chaps and supporter. Doesn't work. Its a magnet for a hot casing next to your nuts.

Now, I'm curious as to whether or not you're going to stick around after reading what people had to say about cargo pants.
