What's the dumbest gun-related deal you've made?

My Mom wanted to start shooting she found a 38 special (key word was definitely special) revolver. She didn't remember the make or model and had dropped 200 on it before I could check it out. When I went down to pick it up it had no sights at all the cylinder release was not needed to have the cylinder come free. Over all that gun was better used as a door stop or a hammer at that point any way 200 bucks down the drain and 500 bucks for a Ruger lcp she is at least enjoying shooting.

I bought 3 Remington 870's hoping the next one would be better than the last.
Pfft.... lesson learned.
Benelli is the only shotgun for me now.

I would have to say it was buying my first one, which initiated the quest for the perfect gun for each situation. I would probably be much more affluent if I would have stuck with a sharpened sapling that was hardened in a fire.

Want to let one go for cheap? I have some Police Magnum furniture I got through a group buy a few months ago that need to go on a gun.
