What's brass worth?

I have been keeping my brass but I don't reload. What is brass going for? Un clean 5.56 .223 & 9mm all once fired. Anyone know give estemates for per round?

The prices for brass were quite higher in the beginning of the year and have come down, but not as low as they were in early 2012.

I would estimate that the 9mm is selling in the $40 to $50 range per thousand, and the .223 is between $65 and $90 per thousand based on what I have seen on AR15.com and gunbroker. Some people are asking more but it does not seem to be selling.

$40 per thousand of 9mm shipped is good. Sometimes hard to sell because it's a common caliber and people who reload snarf it from ranges easily unless they'd rather not spend the time picking it up.

Based on the outdoor ranges I shoot at, I THOUGHT 5.56 brass was picked up by most shooters. One peek in a brass bucket at the PSA Range and it proved me wrong...
I haven't bought brass in a long time but see it advertised a lot. $75/per 1000 shipped is a reasonable price.

Yeah, some ranges won't let you take brass as they sell it themselves. I usually just offer to be the "broom cat lady" when I see someone using brass I want. Never been turned down yet

They sell dirty brass at PSA. Next time you're there, you can check, and drop me a line. Seems case prep is the "fun" part of reloading.

Yeah, some ranges won't let you take brass as they sell it themselves. I usually just offer to be the "broom cat lady" when I see someone using brass I want. Never been turned down yet

I shot there a couple months ago with my father in law who was visiting in town; it was raining and he wanted to shoot my AR, otherwise I would have gone outdoors. He had shot about 50-60 rounds at this point at a 25 meter US Army Alt C qual target (has representations of 50-300m targets at the 25m range) and I was piling MY brass up on the ground in our stall. A PSA employee comes up during a target change and pushes all the brass down range. I was pissed!! I said "I was piling MY brass up because I reload. You just swept it down range so y'all can sell it later! Don't be surprised when you see me empty y'all's brass bucket into my range bag before I leave". He kind of mumbled some bogus response back and kept going. I was none too happy as it was Lake City '11 headstamps just fired for the 2nd time. The mixed headstamps from the brass bucket wasn't bad...I was just frustrated. It's not like my brass was scattered everywhere ...neat little pile so it could cool off before tossing it into my bag...obviously I had some interest in my brass.

ATP gun shop is like that (or used to be) which is why I don't shoot there anymore. Their high prices are why I don't shop there.
