What will an "Assault Weapons Etc" ban do to the Sport of 3 Gun?

what has surprised me is the number of gun owners coming out for banning AR's or limiting rounds to 10.. i have read post after post on the internet that goes like this... "i am a conceal carry/hunter/gun for home protection and there is no reason to have AR/mags over 10". Like one lawmaker said "this just feels different, something is going to get done this time"..

i wish.. unfortunately USPSA is not even a blimp on the radar since so few people compete, most people don't even know we exist much less make exceptions! My dream of moving to open and never having to do a reload will be crushed!!

don't worry Jesse is looking at creating a division where you the rules are 3.5 inch barrel or less, but can use optic, no magwell, but can get trigger job, no stippling, but can use grip tape! I heard he has already got Phil on board

This makes me sick - The kid was going to be commited for being insane and then proves he should have been commited a long time before that by shooting up a school.

Making it illegal for me to buy more highcap mags for my AR isn't going to make johny nutjob over there sane. 2+2 = potato for lots of these people and we have to share the planet with them.
They obviously are just going after soft targets so lets make it mandatory that every school has to employ x number of armed veterans or otherwise trained shooters. Jobs program and kid safety rolled into one. I'm not saying that veterans are all crack shots but they have the majority of what it takes and thats running to the sound of guns.

I'm in my 40's, and when I went to school in Florida every school in my town of Naples at the time had a Safety Officer in place. I know there are more schools due to population growths but it can and should be done! Gun Control is not the solution! I'm sick of this elephant dung everytime some asshat breaks a law or kills someone our rights are taken away or restricted. Gun Control is not missing at a public execution and all the other asshats will think twice before they commit a crime.

I've been back and forth with folks on facebook a bit since this elephant dung went down. A lot of people seem to be losing sight of a few things:

#1 if you make the schools a harder target the nutters will attack other targets such as school buses etc...
#2 If you have a known armed person as a "protector" they are the first one targeted. The bank guard is the first guy to get a gun in his face right?

I keep seeing all my liberal friends mindlessly reiterate the "why do we need military style rifles?" rant over and over. You can''t fix stupid or reason with insanity.

I'm not going to worry to much right now...The prez has made a "task force" to start this whole process of gun bans.....If this new task force is anything like all the other task force's that he has come up with, NOTHING IS GOING TO GET DONE.....At least for a long time...

It amazes me how many gun owners feel that way, they have never been exposed to these types of guns and the media isn't helping with all of the dumbasses they interview. I feel that this is a fight that we might lose, with this tragity its just what the Dems/anti gunners need to help push this through.
Its already been said but if it does happen all we can hope for is a 94 AWB & not something that is a life time band. I hope I am wrong about this.

I am also new to 3gun and hate to think that we could lose this sport because of this.
