What Kind of Tools Should I Have In My Range Bag?

Hello! I tried searching for this topic but it is still unclear to me...

From time to time things break and it makes sense to have some set of tools to make repairs to equipment while you are in the field.

As it stands now I only have a pistol (STI Edge .40); however, I am planning to add a shotgun in the near future and an AR within the next few months (if I can find one - lol!)

Please share your thoughts on the best set of tools to carry in the range bag?

Thanks!

Will

I carry a standard Leatherman, cable scissors and a 4 way interchangeable bit screwdriver and a cheep led flashlight. Sometimes when I remember it I will toss in a small cleaning kit for whatever I'm shooting that day. That setup has gotten me out of a few issues over the years.

Bandaids!

I have a flathead and Phillips head screw driver and some Allen wrenches. Think I got a roll of black tape too.

Here's what I've got in my range bag as of today:

Bandaids, vetwrap, nu-skin, multi-tool, small flat & phillips screwdrivers, changeable bit screwdriver, small bottle of hoppe's 9 gun oil, AA & AAA batteries, tape, pen and paper, flashlight, mag loader, hand towel, & shot timer (when I remember to put timer in there).

Old pill bottle with disposable ear plugs cause you never know when someone new may want to shoot for their first time :)

I also have an old pill bottle with fibre rod, single edge razor blade, & lighter for front sight.

I'll be watching this thread to see what else I need to keep in the bag. So far I think I'll add a couple of punches, allen wrenches, and I need a mag cleaning brush.

Put a Glock in your range bag and you won't need tools.....

Someone had to say it.....

I try to keep a changeable bit stubby screwdriver, a set of allen wrenches, and a pair of small vice grips. Honestly have never needed any for my guns, but you never know.

I've used my tools on my gear & other people's guns more than on my guns

I guess I'm the anal one. I carry a tool box with me to every match I shoot. In it is just about anything you'd need to work on the standard fare seen at the matches that I attend. I also carry a Rubbermaid container with spares for ARs, Glocks and whatever else I have on hand that might be needed. I don't have everything, but it's a nice feeling to save someone's day when they have breakage or stoppage that otherwise ended their fun.

Brass drift to remove stuck bullet, First aid kit with lots of white gauze, aspirin, nitrile gloves, chamber safety flag and baby wipes.
Oddly I have had to use all of these at one time or another at a match.
