Since I wont be able to shoot my Glock 34 with its 1.5# trigger in 2012 I am gonna have to get into the CZ market. Actually my Glock is around 3.5 but ever since I shot a guys CZ in Phil's level 2 class I have wanted one.

So what is the hot setup? Where can I get it? What is it gonna cost me?

The CZ for production now is the Shadow.
I don't know if Matthew Mink is still doing custom work.
You can look at your options at this link.

A buddy just got his Shadow from Mink. I would 100% get one if I was shooting production. From what I hear Minks work is superior to Angus.

Dennis, for production, since their is no maj power factor, you won't see many .40's

I could talk about CZ's all damn nite.
Any of the Shadow variants will do the job. There's a lot of choices in them now, mostly sight options and finish.
An adjustable rear sight would be nice.
If I were buying a 2nd CZ today (for a back up competition gun) I'd get a 75 Shadow because it'd be IDPA legal (always bugged me that the Shadow was too good to be legal in IDPA) The 75 Shadow has a short dustcover...the regular Shadow has a full dust cover.
They need some tuning, there's a few tricks to learn along the way.

Demand for the CZ is going to go up if the Production rule changes come to be. The days of seeing a bargain in the classifieds are over.
Buy one from CZ Custom or Matt Mink. They both do awesome work. Matts will have a lighter trigger. I once had a 75SA from Matt...the trigger was telepathic, best trigger I've ever felt on any gun.

The Shadow is DA/SA, mine is 5lbs on the DA and just under 2lbs in SA with no 'wall' I've forgotten the numbers, but I shoot my fastest splits with my Shadow, even faster than a rimfire. Its not all trigger of course, the gun is heavier than my Limited gun, with a fairly light slide, shooting 132pf loads thru a 10lb recoil spring it kicks just a little more than an airsoft gun;-)
CZ's in general, and the Shadow in particular are crazy accurate.

Robert,

I know a buddy just got one from Mink but do you know for sure if Mink is still working on cz's. Also do you have an email for him?

Just think what some dude from California thinks about sending his elephant dung to olyeller in the cellar after reading this thread. You gotta really want the best elephant dung possible!!!

And that's why I don't mind waiting. I know Mike will do the best damn job out there. It's well worth the wait!!!!!
