What I learned from my 1st three gun
Well I felt like I showed up to a funny car race in a yugo..... Here is what I learned:
1. Need to bring a holster that is not in your pants (fobus or something like that)
2. Need to have a shotgun that holds more than 4 rounds
3. Need to get more range time in on my new rifle
4. Need to get a belt to hold my mags, shells
5. Need to bring buckshot and slugs
6. Need to never, ever, ever, never, get into a redneck limo and shoot a shotgun before the rifle.
7. Need to have at least 3 pistol mags
8. Hitting the clay with a slug is not impossible @ 75 yards!
9. Shotgun speedloaders would be very helpful
10. Bring a lunch!
11. A leather jacket is not acceptable holder for your shotgun rounds and makes it a pain to reload.

That was one fun time, I regret not doing one sooner!

You don't want to know where I had shotgun rounds stuffed at my first match.

Sounds like you enjoyed it though?

Speaking of shotguns, what capacity should you have for a 3 gun?
As many as the rules will allow for the division you're shooting in :D
Different matches have different rule sets.
Typically for-non open division shotgun, it's 8+1 at the buzzer & no limit after that.

If day the new minimum for a major match is 9+1. I run the 12 round tube cause I am making up for length issues elsewhere.

LOL

Guess I need to see about investing in a different shotgun. My 870 is not only a pump, but only holds 7+1 even with the extension tube I stuck on there.

Talking to a guy about trading that 870 and some other junk for a Spike's 16" AR. At this point shotguns are easier to come by than AR's.

I wouldn't go changing guns just to get one more round in your shotgun. If you work on loading and shooting without missing you will beat a lot of semi auto guns that are out running there sights and loading abilities.

Mine currently holds 10+1, but I've been thinkin bout getting the xxl Nordic end cap for 1 more.
One more won't make a difference. 10 in the tube or 12, but not 11! That will just mess up your loading (and round counting) :D

I figure it can't possibly get any worse, so why the Hell not do it.

Right now a +9 from Nordic is the "Kong's Dong" anything longer has to be custom.
This will give you 12+1 in a M1 or M2

I've seen guys run tubes that extend out past the barrel. Do you have to choke the gun down, or will the spread not expand enough to hit it with 00-07 buckshot?
