what do you do when you dq?

You DQ'd yourself? That takes balls
Actually I kind of did. I broke the 180, and the guy that was running me was quibbling on it. So I made him DQ me, packed up my stuff, and just ran the squad for the rest of the match.

Nice!

Burk dq'd himself once, then kicked his own ass & bitched about the shitty RO for the rest of the day

Got invited to Dairy Queen for the first time today... On a stage that I set up! What was gone over and cool yesterday during set up, turned out to be not so cool today during the match. I broke 180 like a MoFo on the second stage and earned the title of Perma-paster for the rest of the day.

I was DQ'd for breaking 180. I had to stay bc I carpool with a buddy. I was 2nd shooter first stage. I chose not to help tape and stuff bc the guy that DQ'd me handled it so badly I wanted to punch him in his face. He ended up give me a 5-10 min lecture yelling at me front of the squad. Saying stuff like "Look at me when I'm talking to you"

I have no issue with a guy that gets DQ'd leaving afterwards
I would be looking at him looking at me choking the elephant dung out of him. WTF?

Brian and me ran a stage at the Cowtown Classic last weekend. First squad of the day and a lady shooter swept herself opening a door. Brian was running the shooter and called it immediately. She stopped and immediately went to ULSC. She knew she'd screwed up. I felt so bad for her being that it was the first stage of 10. She stayed and helped the squad. She talked to me at the end of the day and actually appologized for getting DQ'd on our stage.
We had a second shooter in the 4th squad of the day, I was running him, actually know him well from a class we took together, swept himself twice opening the door and pushing it out of the way, Brian and I both yelled STOP. He did surprised and when I asked him to ULSC he was pissed. He didn't think he'd done anything wrong... Even when the RM came to the stage he was all about trying to show him the video, which clearly wouldn't have shown anything as he was 25ft infront of the strat position at the time he DQ'd. I did explain it to him after and he was still pissed. He left the match and I'm sure cursed me all the way home but it was the right thing to do...

All you can do is call what you see. That's a bummer for sure, but you must call it as you see it

One time I had to DQ Jason for FTDR (Failure to do Right). He refused to buy me tacos after the match so what could I do? He got all mad and tried to kick dirt on me but his $150 Solomon shoes were too grippy and they caught a rock causing him to fall down. He was bleeding a little bit from his elbow and we all laughed and had a big time. He got up and was going to throw something at me but he kind throws like a girl and he hit someone else instead of me. After all that, I started to feel a little bad because of his elbow and stuff, so I un-DQ'd him and let him finish the match but I went ahead and beat him anyway.

True Story

Ft benning about 6 yrs ago, either wining or second HOA in tact ops on last stage, kurt ROing me, shotgun, 6 shots from ending match and--- shoot a f--king 1x1 steel post 4" from muzzle and presto, watching prize table and trophy slip away. Set props, smiled, went to hotel bar, got drunk,, tried to fight anyone but everyone took pity on old man and just laughed.

I am MD of our local 3gun matches and tend to push myself harder at my own matches which has in turn got me a couple DQ's. Hard to leave early and sure wouldn't set a good example being the MD. I have only had to DQ one other shooter so far and he hasn't been back since. It's a shame shice he was one I could count on to be there for setup each and every time but I couldn't just "let it go"!! His brother still shoots with us and is a very active participant in setup and stage planning. Hopefully he will finally shake it off and come back but its been about a full year now since he has shot with us.

When / if it happens to me I may just pack up and go. I travel 3-4 days a week on average for work and there is always something else I could / should be doing when I am able to be home so if it is driving distance and I am alone, I will likely be in the drive-through at DQ and on my way home, pissed off at myself.
