What do you do for a living?

Snake charmer, very nice! Just don't bring them to a match, I am terrified to death of them, and would be armed. j/k

Resource Forester for a large timber company. Pretty much consists of any and everything to do with managing 82,000 +/-. Timber sales, reforestation, timber management, road construction and maintenance, security, lease manager, etc.

Convey Communications. My dad owns our business. He started it around 10 years ago.

We sell and maintain digital and VOIP phone systems, surveillance equipment, paging equipment, fleet tracking systems and access control systems. We also do commercial structured cabling. Voice, data and fiber.

For the most part a jack of all master of none but to pay the bills I'm Quality Control Inspector for oilfield BOP's and valves. Pretty much has turned into if it needs done I get bothered ;) Crazy hours as it may be 70 hours this week and 40 hours next week all depends on what's going on in the world. Not the best paying job but I enjoy being on the floor and working with the people that get things done, tried the office thing as a draftsman but I'm told I can be abrassive for an office environment  funny how people are not good with hearing the truth. Later,

Kirk

I coordinate private home-healthcare for retired individuals who need 24hr care. In other words, I and my employees wipe ass...

My card says "director of safety and training"... but that's code for diaper changer and bottle washer.

I produce safety programs for electric utilities... and do some work methods and consulting work.

In my real life... I worked as a electric lineman and journeyman electrician for about 20 years and ran an apprentice program for a large midwestern electric company for a few years.

I repair medical equipment and maintain device and record compliance in accordance with various federal regulatory bodies. Recently this means more IT type work than in the past, but it isn't yet a significant percentage of my duties. This includes upgrades, whether mandatory or optional, and recalls. The level of integration of systems in medicine doesn't yet encompass fluid power applied for therapy, but it's coming down the line. Sometimes I save lives, but it's rare. You'd be surprised what interesting types of monitoring systems are adapted to patient monitoring.

In the past I was an electrical assembler and then an engineering technician. I had to fabricate parts and equipment to modify larger industrial processing equipment, and during that one I had to learn to run machine tools to fabricate custom parts. I can also weld, but only stick/arc and MIG.

I work at Sooner Power plant for OG&E. Instrumentation and controls Technician.
Second Job is running a farming business.

I did some boiler testing there back in the summer of 09 as an intern. Might have run into you.

If anyone asks if you want to test boilers, just say no.
