That song takes me back to my early teen years. I've always loved it, it does not paint a very good picture of chaplains though. Sad. I believe this was original a poem written in ww1,by I believe a Scott.

I believe we should have kept our nose out of it, but we seem to always get mixed up in this kind of crap. We fell for the ploy, that we were fighting the commies, behold they seem to have taken the country over. Hope it Isn't too late to take it back again.

I absolutely love this song. I've loved it from the first time I heard it. Mike and the mechanics is a highly underrated group. Thank you for posting this.
