Weird issue with 1911 in .40

Anyone ever have an issue with a 1911 in .40 that will group around 1 inch at 50 feet and then grow to 8 inches vertically by the third magazine through it?

Pistol is a custom .40 that was built for bullseye shooting. Had three different shooters try and all had the same result. Trying to help a buddy out but I have no clue.

Are they bullseye shooting or shooting from a pistol shooting rest?
I would try it from a pistol shooting rest to take the shooter our of the equation.

In Bullseye you shoot 22LR (90 Rounds) 1911 45 ACP (90 Rounds) and Center Fire (90 Rounds) Must bullseye shooters use their 1911 45ACP for the center fire part, or a 32 Auto never heard of any one using a 1911 40 for the center fire part.
H & H has a bullseye league on Thursday night, (www.okcgunclub.org for details on matches) I would drop by with the pistol and ask one of the bullseye shooters for advise.

Standing shooting.

It's not a typical bullseye match but that is the style of shooting. He isn't local or I would bring it.

I'm 99% it's not shooter induced at this point.
