Just saw on the news (Robin Meades morning express. Don't judge me, it was on a public TV) via a TV in the chow hall, that Walmart and Dicks Sporting Goods are no longer going to sell "assault weapons". Never been a fan of either place, especially walmart, looks like I have an even better reason for never spending another dime there again.

This article doesnt say anything about walmart, but they specifically mentioned both chains when i saw it on TV.

not that i care where you shop, but always been confused by the "hating walmart because they don't carry more guns", maybe i am missing something, but does target or other competitors to walmart carry more guns/ammo, then walmart does??

Since Sam died and the kids took over wal-mart I've not been a fan of the cheap stuff they have so I don't shop there and ya know I don't miss it at all. Later,

Walmart apparently just de-listed the Bushmaster from their website. Hardly a "ban".

This. Their lack of guns and ammo isnt why I never liked the place. Its their merchandise in general. Walmart is not what it used to be.

True, not trying to blow things up larger than they really are. Just quoting what the libtards on TV stated. But either way, thats enough for me to not shop there anymore.

The Remington 1100 has almost the same operating system as the AR.
I guess the idiots don't understand that.
Then, on Fox news tonight, here is Bill Orielly calling the AR platform a "Heavy weapon", and saying that he is in favor of anybody owning one, having to register it with the FBI!

WTF??

I don't watch Bill O'Reilly any more. He's now joined the ranks of all the other third rate journalists. He spews misinformation and seems to have no inclination to offer correction when presented with factual information. In my book, he's a moron.

The article that I read on CNN said that Wal-Mart took the rifle in question off of their website for purchase. Instead they listed directions to the nearest brick and mortar where it could be purchased.

A quote from the article.

"David Tovar, a Wal-Mart spokesman, said the Bushmaster gun was not for sale online and the web listing contained directions for the nearest store where it could be purchased. The ad was pulled because of sensitivity to the Newtown massacre, Tovar said."

I've not shopped in wal-mart for over 6 years it has nothing to do with gun sales, I just don't like the place and nothing against anyone who works there, we can just blame it on my ex lol Later,

Walmart did not stop selling ARs. They did remove the Bushmaster from their website. The Sig M400 is still shown online. Cerberus or whatever the group is called that owns Bushmaster has been listed for sale so I wonder if them pulling it off their website is related.
