Walmart Ammo returning?

My local Walmart had a whole bunch of 100 round boxes of Federal 55 grain FMJ .223 today. Bought three of them. It's been a few months since I've bought ammo. I've seen it on the shelves, but reload much of what I've seen. Glad to see more and more on the shelves each week.

Just bought 3 boxes of Tula .223 at the Admiral and Memorial Wal-Mart for $5 each or so. They were out of everything but that, one box of brass 223, and shotgun shells.

Ive got 300 rounds of steel case im taking to the range this weekend, if i have zero issues, ill consider running it in competition, however, i do not have high hopes with my surefire mag.
Most steel case .223 has a bi-metal jacketed bullet. Some ranges won't let you shoot that ammo in competition due to possible damage to their steel. Might check with your range first.

My franken-AR eats it fine as long as I keep the chamber clean.

I had all kinds of problems with stuck cases until I learned that AR-15 chamber brushes exist.

Guthrie Walmart had several 50 round boxes of Federal 115 fmj one day last week at about $15. Doubt it lasted long.
There is a rumor that the same walmart had a few CCI mini mag 22lr at about the same time. The 22 rimfire is all I really care about and have been told to show up and get in line at 7am on Wendsdays and I might or might not get lucky.
Text me next time you see federal 115's please. Dang $15/box is 50% more than I paid less than a year or two ago. Sad times!

Walmart at Memorial and Penn has had a LOT of .223 and 9mm on the shelf recently, and it was there for a few solid weeks. Shelves are bare again as of yesterday, but it looked like a sign. Midway has got bulk .223 projectiles in from Barnes, at an "acceptable" price, but they're flat-base. Sooner State Pawn has had ammo on the shelf very regularly too, much more so than any big box store, and with no limit per customer. Maybe the hoarding is coming to an end.
