Ok it started off I was after a ACE rifle length but the more I progress in this I find myself going a different direction <_< and talking to folks I'm thinking the best option would be something adjustable and it seems this stock just looks sturdy but then again it's a picture! the price doesn't look bad and in the realm of my affordability, I would have to pick up a Mil-Spec buffer tube and truth I've not seen anywhere to pick them up! I know I would have to use a CAR length but who or where do I purchase these from if you don't mind?

Guys you've been a wealth of information and help! I appreciate it greatly and sorry for all the questions just want to do things right from the start.

Oh anyone have any firsthand with the Tac 30 1-4 scope? it looks like a possible fit for what I'm after and would like to get some feedback. Later,

Kirk

I haven't used the clubfoot Modstock, but I have two Emods and they rock! If you originally wanted an Ace rifle length, but want the adjustability of a collapsible, you might want to take a look at the A5 system that Vltor developed for the USMC. Pretty much the best of both worlds with no serious drawbacks. I have one on my 18" Noveske and it shoots noticeably smoother than a regular collapsible.

I've got the Imod headed my way, I liked the loks of the Emod but didn't think I need the storage and stuff. I handled a few before I made up my mind and either way I've got one headed to the door :) Later,

Thanks taymoor I sure hope it turns out well! I got some goodies yesterday and did a mock up of kinda what she is going to look like see what ya think. Yeah I'm still missing some parts but most of it is only about a 15 minute drive from the house :) if we can find a time that we both have free is the problem. Here's a pic of what she is going to look like.

I'm still up in the air about BUIS looking at the Magpuls, they are cheap but seem well built, granted 90% I'll be using optics but I'd like them just in case. I think I'm sold on the Tac 30 1-4 scope but not sure about the Burris mount as I've not got to handle one and really don't think I'll need the rails on top. Later,

Lookin good so far.
Magpuls sights are pretty nice. You might also check out ARMS #71L sights too. They're made of a polymer/metal mix and are built well with very little weight. I put them on my 3-gun rifle and I really like em.

If you're talking about the Burris PEPR then it comes with smooth top rings so you don't have to use the rails on top. I love my PEPR the only thing I would change is its a little high. The Larues are about 3/8s inch lower.

Billy D, what stock are you running? for an adjustable stock this Vltor has a nice check weld! I'd like to check your out if you don't mind? just wondering about the difference in heights with check welds of the stocks? I've got to get what I put on the card paid off before optics and mounts are ordered so I've got sometime before I start buying more goodies. I've either got to find a better paying job or find a cheaper hobby  Later,

Kirk
