Among the arguments advanced by members of the state Senate's Agriculture, Conservation and Natural Resources committee late last month for shooting down (so to speak) a proposal to allow Sunday hunting was this: "The wildlife needs a day of rest, too." Which surprised me, because deer and bears aren't allowed to vote and hardly ever contribute to political campaigns.
