I recently picked up a Dan Wesson Vigil, and couldn't be happier. I have been in the market for a light weight Government model for sometime. Dan Wesson introduced their Vigil line this year, and hit the nail on the head. I currently have 400 flawless rounds though the pipe, and been carrying her daily for the last two weeks. She just disappears in a Milt Sparks Criterion. I opted for a set of Herretts grips, for a traditional appearance. Thanks for viewing!

Very nice pistol. Do you mind weighing it fully loaded, I like to compare to my Baer. I been looking at lightweight full size pistols.

Dang Charlie, you have all the nice toys!

You seem to have a more tactical beavertail on this pistol, how do you like it? Any different feel than a more traditional beavertail?

I like the idea of a lighter full size, how different does it shoot?[/QUO

Thanks for the nice comments, awmp! I’ve been on the look out for a LW Government model for quite awhile. Colt introduced one sometime back, but it had the dreaded FCS. I almost succumbed to a used Colt LW model earlier this year, but then Dan Wesson introduced their Vigil line. Regarding the beaver tail, I like it a lot. She also lacks a memory bump on the grip safety, which I think provides a more traditional appearance. It just feels right in my hand. I’ve experienced no issues with shooting a light weight Government model. I’ve mostly been punching paper with 200 gr. SWCs & 230 gr, RN reloads. I’ve been carrying her everyday for sometime now, and she feels right at home. Thanks again!

I had those skip line Herrett’s on all my competition guns a lifetime ago.
“Shooting Stars”?

I have the same gun in 9mm.
It’s well assembled and with minor tweaking (thumb safety, extractor) has run flawlessly for a couple thousand rds.
