Veterans Day on my school bus, yesterday!

Check it out... I just barely squeezed back into my old USCG uniform and drove my school bus in honor of Veterans Day yesterday. All the kids loved it, the schools loved it, and parents at the bus stops (for the little elementary school kids) loved it as well.

This photo was taken at one of my elementary schools, and then posted online and most likely all through the transportation dept with the county school system! Wow...

Thank you... I learned a lot about various school age kids and their viewpoints:

Elementary: They loved it, they saluted me, they called me "Captain". LOL...

Middle: They all have major attitudes couldn't have cared less. They snidely looked at me and very obnoxiously said, "Nice outfit". MIDDLE SCHOOL KIDS ARE THE WORST!

High: They were surprised, but they also loved it. I got "fist bumps" and everyone said, "Thank you for your service". One kid was really enthused as his dad is retired Navy. He sat up front next to me and was asking me all about the Coast Guard and how it differs from the Navy, etc... How cool!
