Guys I sent my lifter to Jeff at c-rums to weld it. A local guy told me I need to throat my barell now or chamfer the right side chamber edge. That way it will prevent shells from snagging it when shooting.

Do I need this? Sounds easy if I just bevel the edge with a file. And do I just break the sharp edge or should I really bevel it?

Throating sounded more involved then I want to try.

Do I need this? He said once lifter was welded it may not always center shell. So this was the fix to 100% cycle....

Would it hurt to do this, even if it wasn't needed. Just to prevent the one time I may need it???

not a bad idea, but theres more to tuning the carrier than messing with the chamber,.

I wouls install it and run it as is, if it works and it is as reliable as it was, then, there you go.

I wouldnt call it a beveling, id call it a "rounding" off of sharp edges.

I'm not sure exactly what your buddy told you to do but can you post pics to better explain it before you go cutting and grinding?

How do I round it? Lil 1200 grit ony finger? Or dremel tool and felt Bob with rouge?? Just curious.... I'll run it when I get it back. But if I have a problem it'd be cool to know how to fix it ahead of time. Any other tips to help it run if it don't when I get it back?

As far as I know you just want to knock the sharp edge off in case a shell hits that spot on its way into the chamber. I'm not an expert but I knocked the edge off of my Stoeger with a small file.

I installed my c-rums lifter and went shooting. I didn't have to do any grinding, smoothing, or anything to get the gun to run right. I've run 2000 or so rounds through mine in 6 months with no problems.

You might want to look at the shell latch modifications discussion on Enos forum. That's a mod that is certainly helpful, If not flat out required for our game.

Shell latch mod? Can you post a link or explain, I haven't heard of that one. Thanks for tip! Hopefully my lifter will be here in a week or so. He received it on Friday.

I did the u latch mod if that's it.

Also I added a plus 2 end cap. Should i still cut the spring in the tube? If so how long?

Do you guys remove one of the 2 springs on the latch? If I do. Which one the inner or outer spring? Thanks guys!
